“Israel Elections: Netanyahu Seeks Voting Extension, Cites High Arab Turnout“

Not the way voting usually works.

On the #torontoelection
I saw a lot of rhetoric about “Toronto being dangerous” and I’m glad that people didn’t buy it, because
- Toronto has never been dangerous lol (~71 murders/yr pre Olivia)
- Yet, Toronto has managed to get even *less* dangerous in the last few years since Olivia became mayor (last year 45, this yr 27 so far)

There is data to corroborate those two statements, unlike the fear mongering the media loves to do.

Hawkeye: War isn’t Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse.
Father Mulcahy: How do you figure that, Hawkeye?
Hawkeye: Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell?
Father Mulcahy: Sinners, I believe.
Hawkeye: Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chock full of them — little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander.

Apologizing because they thought the meeting was private and not just wrong is exactly what is wrong with their interpretation of religion.

As others have pointed out, there could be an influx of newcomers to the #Fediverse from #Brazil who are tired of #Meta 's latest shenanigans while meddling with politics.

If you see them, be friendly and welcoming, and under no circumstances start with "You are using the Fediverse wrong!"

I mean it. We have a serious "Reply Guy" problem around here, and we've already lost our big chance with Black Twitter. Let's not screw _this_ opportunity up, okay?

American billionaires are buying up record amounts of farmland in BC. While provinces like Quebec have put heavy restrictions on foreign ownership, we’re watching some of the richest men in America make huge speculative purchases - pushing out locals and taking valuable land from farmers.
