I’m going to do this kind of intense staring whenever I have to wait in line or at a doctors appointment from now on.
Are you ready?
Howsa bout a spooky Halloween story?
The man who built my house (the original settler on this property) died on Halloween.
I discovered this fact on Halloween because as the sun moves around during the year, at Halloween it shines on a particular spot at sunset which is really cool, so I thought I would look him up in my genealogy files.
When he died, it was first reported as a poisoning, then as a suicide and finally the coroner ruled it was not suspicious, that he died of heart failure.
I've been seeing a lot more cars broken down at the side of the highway lately.
I wonder if it is a sign people are not maintaining their vehicles, if they are running out of gas, or if the vehicles are just not built for driving?
This is not okay.
This is a sign of a culture that needs to be sanctioned.
The great fuckoffening has begun.
Growing up in Europe, I saw an American president telling the Soviet leader to “tear down this wall”. Because he wanted the people of East Germany to join the free world.
The current US president builds walls, and he wants East Ukraine to just give up and accept Russian rule.
On November 3, Americans have the chance to change course and relight the torch of the Statue of Liberty, to show the world that America stands for freedom.
It may be the last chance.
Make it count.
Today Lula won reelection in Brazil defeating right-wing Trump and Vance ally Bolsonero.
Also today, Serbian authoritarian and Putin and Trump ally Vucic who was in power for 14 years was defeated.
This is a good day for democracy. This is a bad day for Trump and other authoritarians.
Vote. Vote early. Let's give our country and the rest of the world some more good news.
Today it seems there are some good headlines.
Take the wins when you get them.

The mushrooms here are struggling this year. It’s been too dry this summer. Still, I did find a couple of happy little mushroom friends this morning.
Ukraine was not a threat to anyone. Palestine was less of a threat to Israel than the revers. Canada had no desire to be a threat to the US. Iran is the same deal.
The violence and destruction and DEATH is based on fabricated lies.
@LibraryAndTea I ordered the quesadilla with pulled pork, which is not one of my faves, actually. But I've been craving meat all day.
And since he's here beside me, and I brought it upstairs, he went from fast asleep to wide awake and chirping in about .3secs. So I had to offer him some, that's our bargain. Sniff, sniff, hmm, back away, hmm, lean in, sniff, lick... licklicklickbiteeatnomnomnom. So then there had to be a little more, and a little more... I think he appreciates that it's easily eaten, and comes with its own sauce--he's big on sauces, as long as they're not spicy. We're alike that way.
Anyway, he's eaten several facefulls of it, and is happily asleep again now. Like we always say: Cats come here to us to live their very best lives. He's snoring happily now.
Loons are the sound of the Canadian summer, at least around here. This is a red alert and just another reminder that we need to protect wildlife.

Does anyone else have #bordercollies that cry and snap their teeth to get your attention?
These two have the quietest little whistle cry that gets my attention and if it doesn't, it gets louder until it does.
And then if I look at them, they stop until I look away and it starts again. It is like they're trying to train me.
NO MORE COOKIES for any of us.
@AnnieBuddy @beatricejess @kylferr @ai6yr The problem tends to be
* when you're young you don't have the money
* when you're mid career you don't have the time
* when you're old you can't get the medical
So where do I go to pay my bill in loonies?
I had finally moved somewhere that I didn't have to deal with Bell or Rogers and then my parents moved into a place only served by Rogers.

this is the point to all the tech bro shit. to remove interactions with people. as an autistic person I get the urge to not interact but we all still need each other, as a society, to function.
How do you eat cookies without sharing them with the dogs?
