#Kansas #Senate race has been called for Adam Hamilton, becoming the first Democrat #Senator for the state since 1932 - 94 years ago.

Well. How interesting.

#Intel had another rough day. They fell 8.8% since Friday close. That's 42.3% over the past 5 trading days.

And here I did not think the gas was ever going to leak from the #AIBubble in North America.

A few more general notes:

* Nura, formerly #PostMarketOS, is #AlpineLinux for #mobile. Learn more at the site: https://nura.eco/ or at the wiki: https://wiki.nura.eco/wiki/Main_Page
* My device is an #FP6, which is not yet fully supported but getting their fast. https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/postmarketOS/pmaports/-/tree/main/device/testing/device-fairphone-fp6
* My interface choice is #phosh.
* Fourth OS on this device in 2 months. Each install was terrifying, but resolved without issues beyond stress recovery.

Next: (re)learn phosh, make test SMS, phone call.

Installing #Nura on the #FP6, thus far with only two small issues -

1. The default user account and password: https://wiki.nura.eco/wiki/Installation/Using_a_pre-built_image#Finishing_up
2. The aging cat is missing my partner, wandering around looking for her and occasionally howling. (At work, won't be home for hours, and yes this is very distracting.)

Most projections indicate the world is past peak oil. China entered the solar PV market a little over 20 years ago, and it is now the cheapest generation model. The second cheapest is wind turbines, which it also makes. Storage batteries now mean California has zero carbon days.

There is simply not going to be a market for the 4-8 liquification plants currently in approval stages in BC, even with EU's current demand.

4/5

The *prima facie* reading of these facts strongly suggests the #BCNDP knew there would be opposition to the liquification plants. They knew the builders would run them in #ClimateChange accelerating and polluting manners. But they forced the projects' approvals anyway.

Just like they forced the completion of the nearly completely unnecessary Site C Dam.

Building LNG Canada took 7 years, at a well-connected site. Future plants will likely take longer, and face more opposition.

3/5

M Dix's comments were part of an interview in support of #LNG plant developments in BC. He proposed they would consume the unused production potential of #BCHydro and its private producers. This despite #LNGCanada being given permission to violate its contract and build #methane turbine electrical production, not once but twice.

And every other LNG facility proposed or approved has likewise shown its intention to to install methane turbines.

2/5

In late Spring, #BC, then-provincial-Minister of #Energy and #Climate Solutions Adrian Dix admitted that BC's electrical demand had been flat for nearly a decade.

What this meant was, despite a 20% increase in total population, GDP growth of 25%, and electrification efforts for industry, transport, and homes, all of it had been offset by implemented electrical efficiencies.

Which exactly matched research forecasts in opposition to the Site C Dam.

USA is reported attacking Iran. Aircraft reported over Erbil.

I was getting chilled. But I did not want to turn the heat pump on.

So I decided to mix up some blond brownies, like I used to do in Minnesota of a winter afternoon. It's a quick mix, bakes up in about 20 minutes, warms up the house and they disappear quickly.

When we had 6 people in the household, most of them voracious children, while here there's just me except weekends.

omg, what have I done…

When your government refuses to do the right thing, organize.

I am reminded, slightly, of the website IsThatcherDeadYet co uk.

The nasdaq is off 5% from a record high three weeks ago. But in #China, the STAR50 has tanked 40%, and it is hitting both retail and supply chain for #AI related and adjacent stocks. Further, because it has been a #Beijing-backed segment, those fleeing are moving to traditional safehavens, completely out of tech funding.

Yes, the #AIBubble appears, at last, to be deflating.

#NovaScotia Premier's office has attacked a professor who, asked for comment on a proposed #AI #DataCenter in #NS, gave it.

That is actually part of their job description. M Houston attacked an academic for doing their job.

Yes, that definitely qualifies as #nasty, imo.

…which basically means I looked at the #Wikipedia article and it doesn't mention AI. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro-Office

The European Investment Bank is sometimes described as the largest multilateral development bank. Unlike the Canadian Infrastructure Bank, the #EIB is not funded by the European Union budget - it is financially independent, but owned by the 27 member nations of the #EU.

It is AAA rated, and sells bonds on capital markets like other investment banks. 90% of its activity is within the EU. It is ⅓ of the EIB Group.

#Canada apparently opened an account in September.

#SmallEfficiencies: when donning a jacket or button-up shirt, most people put their non-dominant hand through first, and their dominant hand through the second sleeve.

I wonder if this is most efficient. Most of the time it seems to be, but occasionally the 2nd sleeve is hard to find, inside out, etc. And the non-dominant hand is unable to aid in sorting it out.

Doing the reverse order works better in this circumstance, but likely is slower on average.
