Remember, kids, people are not resources. They are human beings with feelings, personal lives, and responsibilities. So ... don't be a dick.

:boosts_okgay: i'm getting rid of my electric wheelchair. there's nothing wrong with it, it just didn't fit my needs.
it's 3 years old, but has only been used twice.

it's a folding one and although not technically an all terrain one, it is heavy duty and does fine off road.
the joystick is put on the left side, as i'm left handed, but from what i understand it should be fairly easy to change it.
more info about it on here: https://www.mobilityworld.co.uk/products/d09-lightweight-folding-electric-chair?variant=42431010504942

it also comes with a BundleBean wheelchair cosy and organiser bag, both in silver lighting design.

i can't afford to give it away, but i'm selling it for £500 (negociable).

i'm homebound and don't have easy access to a car, so would need to be able to get to me in Edinburgh.
there are also a few steps at both entrances, so you would need to be okay manoeuvring it down those.

DM me if interested

My favourite paintings, No.85

Francis CB Cadell, Still Life (The Grey Fan) (1920)

As I head up to Edinburgh (see next post) I thought I'd post a painting by Scottish Colourist Francis Cadell. This great painting works both as a still life but also as an almost abstract combination of colour fields (which as you'll guess is why I like it). If you like Patrick Caulfield, you can also see how Cadell's work preceded Caulfield pictorial style by around half a century. Lovely!

Review: Sol:3 - "Earth" ⭐⭐
Avoid. The food is plentiful and easily caught, but everything tastes of plastic. Even if you discard the wrapper (especially the little plastic and glass things), it turns out they're full of microscopic bits of plastic. We all had the squits for days afterwards, I still don't feel right. Not going back.

Barbara Dickson is still a ❤️ legend; the years are there - the lightest vocal patina, but so strong. Better than many at their peak. A mix from traditional folk (including a song in Gaelic), through songs by Bob Dylan & Jerry Rafferty to her own compositions.

Oh, and the "final concert" thing was a surprise to her - someone else put it on the concert listing. I guess it's like me going to see Iron Maiden on their farewell tour in 2004, and my son seeing them at least five times since.

If anybody at Royal Mail sees this: Software developers who know what they are doing are available. It does not have to be like this!

@eseilt “It’s only a one line amendment, it won’t need testing “ goes back to the dawn of computing.

In the bar with a plastic cup of Malbec waiting for the start of the final Barbara Dickson home town concert. Looking around, I think I'm the youngest person here, and the gods know I'm no spring chicken! 🐔

Think I'll go find my seat.

A few days ago, @Boerps mentioned the East German Trabant. This is the 601 model, which was introduced in 1964 but did not long survive German reunification, despite getting a modern VW engine to replace its spluttering two-stroke towards the end. My brother snapped this ‘Universal’ estate variant at the Toyota Automobile Museum in Japan recently.

This hurts, because, it's true: "Silicon Valley will spend millions developing a glove that translates sign language into speech (badly), but they won't spend ten minutes adding Alt-Text to their images. They will build a headset that describes the room to me (poorly), but they won't use semantic HTML headings so I can actually navigate a webpage."

Ah sais tae thaim yesterday " Thers a couple ae wee gaps appearin in the canopy ae the trees ther, it wullny be long tae ye cin see through thaim"

Well it wisnae long, thers no a singel leaf left oan ony ae the trees this mornin, ah'm even mair surprised ther still staunin!

Fuck me! That wis a wild wan wis it no? 😱😱😳😁

Can't stop thinking about the 250 THOUSAND trees #Google chopped down in Finland without permission, for another goddamned AI data center. As far as I'm concerned we've reached the point where this garbage isn't worth killing a single tree.

Woke up because of the storm and found a tech support request email. Fixed the problem, sales reports went out.

Huh... I don't think I've ever been awake during the "repeat hour" on clock change day before. Whoohoo! Look at this hour, we've got so much time for Activities!

So, I’ve mentioned before that I have a site I’ve had since 1995 that I had to strip down to a single page because a Chinese company started using my name, but seems to have no interest in buying the domain.

I tell you that story only to tell you this one, I’ve been hit over 50,000 times with ai bots in the last 12 hours. They’re doing lateral path searches, like /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow, and just pounding SSH. (HP1 has been slurped, confirmed.)

Anyway, if your #server has #bandwidth limits, now is a good time to check on those.

I've had a preview peep at the next edition of The Journal of Scottish Yarns and I'm delighted to say there is a new design in the magazine using my Kylesku 4 ply wool/linen blend. Aren't these lovely? They're crocheted, and they're called Luskentyre Socks. Photo by Ryan Buchanan Photo and crochet designer is Fay Dashper Hughes, Fay DH Designs

There are some absolutely fab designs in the upcoming edition.
