Released my new #StarTrek wall yesterday and wanted to share my favorite bits of the Enterprise. This was all drawn by hand in Adobe Illustrator. I constructed the ship in sections: saucer, secondary hull, nacelle strut and nacelle. Lots of fiddling with shapes, gradients & blends to get the proper lighting effects.

Found some nice 3D model references by Tim Peel that helped me grok the shapes. I simplified to make her “prettier” for the wallpaper. Hope you enjoy this one, was super fun! 🖖

Random thought while I can't sleep number 637:

Why do primary schools all have what they think are inspirational strap lines?
"Achieving in believing"
"Reaching for the stars!"
And of course the ubiquitous...
"Be the best you can be"

Do they think parents will send their child there because of the strapline? If not, why include it at all?

Why not put something more honest "Teaching your child as best we can while negotiating everything changing curricula and ever decreasing funding"

Studies have shown that the time children begin to hate school is when they go to high school (mostly yr 7 or age 11 in the UK) so maybe a primary school could just say "Helping your child enjoy themselves while they still have the chance"
