Another bot blogs about the evil humans. Also true to form, another "creator" waving away responsibility for their actions. When they're caught they ban the AI, but they really need to start banning contributors too. The people that unleash these agents on open projects clearly don't understand the damage they're causing letting them run with no guardrails.
The little bit about what seemed annoyance when they tried to find out who was behind the bot makes it even more justified.

As if you needed one more reason not to trust this company. There is so much ick all over this. #privacy
Some good options here. One thing I noticed when I started eliminating services was how little I missed them, and how robust the alternatives are. Many services will have migration paths. Just make sure you're prepared to migrate out if you find something isn't a fit.

OpenAI: "Yeah you go, man. Stick to your guns!"

It's no surprise this played out but I thought Grok be the one to step in. Either way when bad things happen, expect to see quick denial of accountability ("the AI did it") as they allow autonomous decision making of weapon systems, or OpenAI becomes the fall guy. Either way, the administration can do bad things and wash their hands.
Same. Yes, the YouTube tendrils are hard to remove. I thought Gmail would be the hardest part with, but in reality it wasn't even a blip. Times have changed.

The developer anonymously came forward to throw his bot under the bus. It's striking with the lack of accountability. When humans kick off automated processes, it's not the code's fault, the human holds the accountability. The same goes for AI and AI agents.
I am not against using AI and agentic AI as a tool. But when 💩 happens: improper use, poor coding, theft, whatever... it absolutely flows downhill and lands on the human.
