#Inktober2026 #day20 #Lounge Riffing on the iconic mid-century retro-cool style of Josh 'Shag' Agle for today’s prompt. This lounge lizard is far more interested in his martini than a bar full of crickets . Done in (too dry) #Copic markers.

I tried adding a gold embellishment. Wasn’t happy with the contrast. Outlined it. Still not great. Need to think how I’d do this next time. 🫤

For day ten I hope to have an even blacker black! I will be using Black 4.0 from Culture Hustle. I was lucky enough to be given a sample bottle for testing by the Australian importer. I didn’t know what to use it for then. I do now. 😉

This isn’t liquid Indian ink. The dense black areas are done with a pen a tattoo artist turned me onto. It’s the “Sakura IDenti.pen”. It is oil based so not compatible with alcohol ink (like Copic) but it’s much darker and more matte than other pigment liners I’ve tested (although Uni Super Ink Marker is a very similar oil based black). I’m not sure if you can tell the difference on screen, but super satisfying in the original.

3/3 🧵 If you do try it, the right paper is an essential component to it. Bristol or hot press won’t work. Toothier the better. Cold press or rough work well. #DryLiner #ArtTechnique
