Their justification is absolutely wild:

ADHD is a scientific fact. We should not, must not, let proven science become a matter for “opinion”.

This was an abuse of that system.
The message was important, the medium was wildly wrong.
This was not time sensitive. Or if it was that time was weeks ago. As such it could have been a statement, PR campaign, media round.
Not a blaring message panicking people at bedtime for millions of kids.
Burnham, that's one "being a dick" card for you.
No matter how "impressive" these LLM services get, no matter how powerful their capabilities, there's no accounting for the human drive toward "getting bored and doing something else".
I consider myself a technologist, but tech needs to serve our needs not the other way around.
Mid 2000s was peak consumer tech. We've gone very wrong since then. Not everything is terrible, of course, but we've undoubtedly lost more than we've gained.

Meanwhile I'm planning my next phone, when needed, to be a refurbished older model Pixel. Smartphone upgrades hit diminishing returns some years back. A few years old model does more than most people need still & a pixel is well supported for alternative builds of Android when Google stop supporting a model (and or when Google do something in an update I can't accept).
