Having my heart torn out all over again with Monkey Cage reboot, seems a good time to share this talk from #emfcamp a few weekends back - I wish I’d talked more about anti trans gaslighting that was relentless used against me and both supported and encouraged from some around the show , but I will soon

And you become increasingly paranoid because you are aware of how you are being scrutinised - the fact it was an anti trans activist with a very direct link to the show made it so frustrating - they can claim their victory and still they persist

When I spoke to a whistleblower, she told me what happened to me at BBC was a similar path - last night, I realised it was basically being gaslit by the anti trans activist close to the show up to and including the old “oh dear, we think you are mentally ill” and inviting people that targeted you to a small party meant to celebrate the show - I think that’s why it still burrows into my skin - it was a long list over 5 years

I need to stress again that this Monkey Cage situation is nothing to do with the new hosts - Jess Fostekew is a good, funny, and decent person - in fact, if there was anyone I would like to take over from me , Jess would be a number one choice - my argument is with the institution and executives. #science #comedy #bbc

Have broken my August rule , but the powers of this world are so twisted and ugly - having seen the gloating cruelty and hatred in the anti trans movement close up, I cannot understand this vicious desire to dehumanise while letting active predators thrive #trans #lgbtq #humanrights

As for “social construct”, let’s instead challenge how society is constructed for a certain model of mind and thinking - this title and press release is frankly nasty whatever the supposed intentions of the documentary are

I am sorry for all the people who will be damaged by the shitty discussions that will be generated by this . Just like the Age of Diagnosis, the creators are not presenting this in a vacuum - when the age of diagnosis was published - it generated many hostile conversations - an autistic woman who had finally decided to seek help and had since received an autistic diagnosis approached me in floods of tears . She felt like an impostor all over again.

Watching the deeply disturbing Rolf Harris documentary and I have no confidence that an institution like the BBC would be much better now - I think the predators would find a different way of abusing, not SO overt, but if they had enough power or brought in enough money it would still be allowed
