My German has gotten rustier and rustier since my mom died nearly 10 years ago. At that point, she was my last living German-speaking relative. It is getting harder for me to read and forget hearing it at this point.

Anybody out there have interesting and not too heavy German language first Fedi folks they follow? Bonus points if they don’t mind interacting with someone whose German language skill sucks?

I've been a huge space nerd for as long as I can remember. My dad parked me in front of the TV during the Apollo 11 landing when I was not quite 2 years old. Don't remember, but I was apparently rapt.

I am very ambivalent about today's launch. Will all the insanity that has gripped the rest of the fe(de)ral government, I am very worried about "go culture" at NASA again. Plus, for the same reasons, it's harder to really get excited about it even if it's successful.

“There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory which states that this has already happened.”
