I would love to know if anyone has ever produced an estimate calcuation of the total mass of all material humanity has ever boosted into orbit and beyond, and how much energy was expended to get it there, just in delta-V, not even counting total construction and support inputs.
The number would probably seem large to some people, but the actual amount I bet you wouldn't even support a small settlement on the Moon, certainly not sustainably.

advantages:
- the least credible people on earth and their alts will stop calling you a dictator
disadvantages
- your project becomes a clout thunderdome for other peoples’ awful fucking ideas and even worse code so that these credibility-free fuckers can maybe hopefully score a job or a bounty somewhere
- all your actual talent gets chased off
- your community gets even more toxic because the worst parts of it got what they wanted
- you don’t even end up with a good, working game engine or a good, working ECS after this
- what the fuck is the point
you know, if you’re considering rolling back your anti-AI policy because a bunch of people are crybullying each other over “AI witch hunts” and getting caught trying to pass off slop as their own work, your development community might have deeper problems that taking a centrist position on AI will almost definitely make much worse
