In case someone out there knows this. I've come across a paper where the surnames of most of the authors appear to be either K or S. Apparently K is sometimes a surname but S doesn't seem to be. Are these common shortenings for Kumar and Singh or issues with how people have uploaded their names for the papers?

Last day of non weekend leave, so I spent the morning lying in bed reading Snake-Eater by T. Kingfisher.
I noticed a bit late that it was technically labelled horror, and I do agree it contains some horror tropes, but it wasn't the sort of horror that made me go 'oh no!' My horror tolerance is not high. This was closer to dark urban fantasy in terms of my ability to cope. The supernatural portion is not the scariest part.

Apparently people when they block people forget that if you write a screed about why they're blocking you the person you've blocked is not going to read that in the 2 seconds they get to see it before they can't see anything you wrote.

Just because sometimes when I see people put art out into the world this goes through my mind.
