Off the mountain 🗻 again. This was a rough one, despite the trails being technically very easy. We had extremely high wind at altitude, got sunburnt while being really really cold, and had to do kilometers through meltwater swamps.

❤️ my boys for their fortitude, they do everything on blind faith in us. They are the best, even if the 23km descent today was a bit much for them.

We’ve come back off the mountain. Hard 3 days out there but fun, and big rocks are much more manageable for the dogboys than the slushy snow.

Met these two sisters while out for a run, and they were just roaming in the middle of the road which no owner in sight.

No phone number on either of them, so I just herded them to a parking space and waited. Eventually the owner showed up.

Leash your damn dogs, or at least put your number on them — especially if they’re this adorable.

Okay we didn’t have a rest day, but we did take a gondola partway up. Still snowy up there tho.

We’ll plan a rest day tomorrow, or at least an easy route. The boys have been asleep for hours so I think they’re quite shattered.

We made it to the pass height at 2100m, but the snow got progressively deeper, particularly behind rocks shaded from wind. I sank in to my hips in multiple places.

We always let the dogs decide — and they did not care to go further after a snack break. It had been shoulder deep for them for about 2km, so it was a good time to call it quits.

What a view tho 🤩.
