Same goes Bearded Theory (which is at the same site). They really look after the place and the punters. It's big enough to know you're at a proper festival, but not as sprawling as Download or Glastonbury.
I have to admit to not being a fan of Pratchett's novels, so most of the references are going waaaay over my head, but there are still some absolutely banging tunes on this week's #thePlaylist
I've just been grooving along to Donovan's marvellous Season Of The Witch 🧙
@DJDarren oh, you absolute sod: playing Tiffany? I've come over all weak at the knees. It's a good job I was sat down for this 😂
12yo me had an awakening of sorts when this was regularly on TOTP 🥰
Yes, I like gingers, alright? 🤨
#nowPlaying #thePlaylist with @DJDarren, and it's all very magical and disc-like this week. No, we're not talking dark chocolate Hobnobs (even though they are magical discs), this week's show is all things Discworld!
This is kind of hilarious, and the opposite of one of the reasons vinyl all but died out in the 90s. You can only really get about 35-40 minutes of good quality audio on a 12" LP. When CDs came along with up to 70 minutes of audio you soon started seeing more and longer tracks on the CD versions of albums, and many cassette releases.
Vinyl is expensive enough as it is, but if you want the same track listing as the CD or streaming version you're gonna need two discs.
So now @logistics has finally left Malaga. This was its last stop in port before arriving in Shenzhen. That's 8380 nautical miles and about 23 days of travel.
Night is falling now, and we've 5 days of travel through the Mediterranean before we reach the first section of the Suez Canal, which will be at night. In real time, this will be in mid-December 2026.
We're roughly a third of the way through the project, but only about one fifth of the total distance.
As promised, a longer update on @logistics:
Our package left Stockholm about 14 days ago, travelling by road to Insjön, then rail to Göteborg, before being loaded onto Elly Maersk for the marine part of the journey.
It took ten days, including stops in port, to travel the 2114 nautical miles to Algeciras via Bremerhaven and Rotterdam. We had a long stopover in Algeciras/Malaga waiting for the Arab Spring to settle down, making it safe to use the Suez Canal.
Right, I’ve finished my re-read of #theLaundryFiles (and I’m glad I did, because I’d forgotten a lot of plot points). I’d forgotten how good The Labyrinth Index was!
Anyways, it’s been a *long* road, but it’s *finally* time for The Regicide Report. See you on the other side…
The new Durutti Column album is lovely, but this track is absolutely gorgeous. One of the dreamiest, most affecting pieces of music I’ve heard for years…

#Automation is what makes a lot of IT nerds happy. It's not ground-breaking or exciting, it just saves us time and effort on repetitive tasks.
I bought the new Panixphere album on #bandcamp yesterday, and a few hours later (the script runs every day at around midnight) it was automatically downloaded and added to my #plex music library.
The humidity is really getting to me: I feel really wheezy and out of breath today. Do not like.
For REASONS, I am #nowPlaying Aerosmith's mighty Pump album.
14yo me thought this was the peak of 20th century culture, and I'm finding it hard to disagree even now.
"Going dooooooooown...."
I must admit to not being a fan of Terry Pratchett (!🤯!), so this week's #thePlaylistSuggestion is a challenge for me. These are gonna be tangential, at best, based on the Wikipedia article for Disc World 😀
Gong - Master Builder, because Pyramids, and featuring the Glorious Om Riff
Snuff - Don't Fear The Reaper, because Snuff and Death
Greta Van Fleet - Trip The Light Fantastic, obvs.
Steve Miller Band - The Joker, some people call me Maurice (no educated rodents, though)

Wow....I'd always thought Boy George was a fair decent human. I guess not, some of those lyrics are just hideous.
Ah, BBC Concert Orchestra and Carl Palmer #6music
I can only assume Maconie is to blame for this…
Mmm, tuned in to #6music only to be treated to some orchestral version of ELP’s interpretation of Fanfare For The Common Man. And very nice it is, too 😎
