Oh boy they just now cancelled the appointment, 24 hours in advance, because the doctor had something personal come up (I get it, we are human, but what are you going to do to help your patient that is time sensitive?) and all they could offer her was the same 6 week out appt they offered the other day, and this time the person who called was snotty when she tried to ask questions andcwas upset because it is time sensitive. Literally she can't catch a break. :( 🙃

My mom has an upcoming important doc appt and they just called to cancel it, a few days before, because they *triple booked the time*.
Then when my mom refused to push it back 6 weeks because it is time sensitive for her and generally not for other people. they said they'd call back with an update.
They didn't call back.
My dad had to call and they adjusted the appt by 1 hour and it is all good now! But they made a big show saying that other people had to lose their appointments because *my mom* wasn't flexible and how awful that was other people are suffering because of her - not at all because someone triple booked the appointment. 🫠

They did discover a partial reason for her kneecap/acl tear is that she likely either broke or super dislocated her ankle sometime before we got her and it completely healed but is at a slight angle and it seems to have put more pressure on the knee. Not the only cause, but interesting to learn from the xray.

My dog (Ember)'s knee surgery went well and the vet said "we got everything we had hoped for accomplished". She is home now and resting and not currently too adverse to the cone. Thanks for the kind wishes before the procedure. :)

My dog is having a knee replacement tomorrow, so probably no new filmmaking videos this week!

Been really bad at actually checking/responding on social media recently - but I am here and hope you all are as well as you can be!

I always hear about Pride and Prejudice (on my list), and I guessed both are good - but S&S is hilarious at times so far (I'm still early in it), the style keeps things moving - and I am loving it a lot!

For people discussing it, "contact" here is having one in your house or tent or if it touches, bites, scratches, or gets saliva on/in you - those things, not like being near a bat as it flys over outdoors, are what you need medical attention for. And if you have any doubt talk to a medical professional asap, they will have the most pertinent advice for your situation. The important thing here to me is awareness that this is a huge, deadly, but rare risk, that is under discussed and people need to know to seek treatment if they get exposed!

My friend told their partner they needed to go to the ER because they had never heard that before, so I thought it would be good to share.

Found out my friend's partner had a bat fly into them while they were sleeping and I'm taking this moment to say a PSA that if you have contact with a bat you MUST GO TO THE ER right away to get the rabies vaccine and treatments because it could save your life - if you wait until you have symptoms you will die. The shots are also way better than they used to be.
