I got VR working on Linux.

Played a little Walkabout Minigolf and managed to get Sushi Ben launched and running. Haven't tried some of the more hardware stressing games yet, like any of the Social platforms. But dang.

Been sitting at my desk processing data all morning, and suddenly I'm just overcome with a very slight stabbing pain in my chest and a wave of dizziness. And now weird back pain along the spine.

Palpating the area seems to suggest it's the breast tissue that's sore, not my heart. I can still breathe fine, and it doesn't feel tight or constricting.

The doctor wouldn't do anything, because they've looked at this very seriously multiple times and found nothing (they've been extremely thorough to be honest!). So I'm likely fine.

But it really is spiking my anxiety. Which is only making this worse.

Now I'm getting pretty dizzy for some reason.

I'm kind of scared.

My heart feels really fucked up tonight. So does my left arm.

I've been here before, so I know it's fine.

But it still doesn't feel good.

The erosion and decay of Social Media? The fate of all consolidated platforms, whether subsumed by irrelevance, or subject to the whims of a central authority. Any such facilitation of exchange is destined to either collapse into ruin, or mire into utter rot.

I'm not sure how to troubleshoot or test this, but can people see THIS post, without it being replied to?

The chatter online about this is minimal, and yet, it's very obvious that this game is a front for malware.

Even those people who noticed that something was off are being shouted down that it's a false positive, and so many others are getting fooled into installing malware on the pretense that it is a false positive.

This is what the culture of "You don't need Security Software" breeds. When you say "Just don't be an idiot and you'll never get compromised", then you assume that only idiots get compromised - Even though these threats are specifically designed to fool ANYONE.

I'm not sure how these attitudes can co-exist, the assurance that there are no real threats out there unless you're doing something 'highly risky', and the attitude that everything that looks sketchy is a 'false positive'. That just seems like asking for disaster.

I don't know. No one cares, I guess. I get paranoid about this stuff - I'm still running on adrenaline because it almost got me (and even though I never opened or unzipped the file I downloaded, and I downloaded it onto an OS that's unlikely to be the target of the exploit, I'm still worried that I got got).

But no one seems to care.
