I really do not understand the genre 'watch other folks travel around the world and eat food and do things you can't afford'.

@batichi Vicariously living the high dollar life doesn't appeal to me either. Like my cousin watching MTV Cribs all evening, every evening, when I stayed with him almost 20yrs ago. Like dude, take up gardening or something.

@jankhambrams if the show was more based around decorating than just 'rich home' it would at least be pretending to be art. I want ideas I can execute

@batichi That's an interesting thought that I think lines up with my desire to approach things that give me something *actionable*. I desire things that inform my decisions instead of just lavishing me with their status and luxury for the sake of it.

@jankhambrams exactly, I'm not going to ever park a Lambo in my living room? Even if somehow had the ability. Cars stay in a garage. But a big fuck off waterfall? He'll yes. Can't afford it, but it's doing something.

@batichi I keep imagining what if it was an old and run down Lambo that you use as part of the water feature. Something something, commentary on the impermanence of extravagance, something something.

@batichi I liked it for a while if it was a food travel show, but had to stop watching them. Because the person is always a white cis man who confidently can go places where the rest of the population cannot. Like even if I had the money, some privileges can't be bought. Also I got really sad that I probably will never see any of those places
