    I'm musing upon the complete absurdity of a well known novelist of UK origin, read by hundreds of millions of people, creator of a vast movie franchise, who rolls in wealth and power, fancying her self to be persecuted in ways akin to witches from centuries ago.

    Wealth and privilege are the truest form of hallucinogenic agents.

    That so many support her in her delusion is evidence enough that the media and the public have never stopped their sycophantic adoration of the wealthy and powerful.

    She is a living specter of a common phenomenon that infects those with privilege, across the strata of society, from those of middling advantage, to those bristling with political and monetary might:

    When the privilege to abuse others without recompense is challenged by the abused, those of greater privilege will see themselves as unfairly persecuted.

    Social privilege comes with the assumption that one's essential birthright is an unchangeable will to do violence against those deemed "lesser."
