Just once, I'd like to see a company come forward and say "we got badly breached, and we analyzed the evidence, and you know what, we don't think the adversary was extremely sophisticated at all"
It’s the 31st anniversary of Hackers (1995) European release! In (some) cinemas in the UK today in the mid-90s.
They had limited screenings of it at The Point in Milton Keynes, which was my nearest ‘big’ cinema at the time.
My mum wouldn’t take me so I had to wait until it came out on VHS early the following year.

Remember when we all use to laugh at oracle for realeasing Java security patches that were in the several thousands?
anyhow, vibe coding is keeping me employed.

@BobLefridge @thibaultmol @KiwiEV that graph in the original post has data from after when it was posted (has data from 15 October which hasn't happened yet). I doubt it is real.
The first question in a job interview was "what is your favourite computer game?" I told the truth: I haven't played a computer game since Infocom was bought in 1986. They'd never heard of Infocom. I didn't get the job.
We’ve been talking about this for years.
None of these far-right movements are organic.
if you open the menu next to a suggested shorts panel on youtube and click the "show fewer shorts" button, it still shows you the exact same number of shorts suggestions but just removes the "show fewer shorts" menu item for a while.

So the adobe ai clone saga continues. This will be hilarious story to follow. Irony must be laughing really hard right now.
quick Stockholm question: I stopped at a grocery store and bought some salmiak licorice and it is tasty, but it is the kind that is equally sweet and salty. I crave the kind that is aggro: barely sweet at all. any pointers to stores / brands that I should be looking out for would be appreciated
OH: "The inventor of autocorrect will rot in Hello."
Apparently some #us citizen wanted to give a very brief history lesson about XVIII century France.
His name is Philan-Tam-Duy Le, and he drove all the way from California to Washington in his pickup, bringing a fully sized and apparently working guillotine along.
Remember, remember the 5th of November.

TBF this isn't exactly my kind of jam, but if you like Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream and other early #electronica, this will likely hit some nice spot:

I've also heard that his live shows are great.
Not controversial.
Anybody here remembers #sonique ? It was a crazy audio player from #winamp 's epoch that allowed totally crazy UI shapes.

This post contains a few that show how skin (theme) makers could completely redo the whole interface:
