@fasterandworse What comes to my mind when I think of Firefox?

I've already made an illustration about that.

Free Software projects should endeavor to make successful contribution approachable for people "scratching an itch" instead of demanding perfection. Otherwise eventually there will be no pool of future contributors. Too many projects (seemingly ones with mostly paid developers) forget this and suffer for it, eventually.

We are happy to announce 47 free and open source projects have been selected for the 12th round of the NGI0 Commons Fund.

The efforts of these teams all go toward strengthening the digital commons, and we thank them for their contribution to more digital autonomy for everyone.

Commons Fund will provide them with practical and financial support, kindly made possible by @EC_NGI

Here's an overview of all 47. Come and meet the projects!

After more than 4 1/2 years today marked my last day as an OSBA employee and I will return to the role within the OSBA that I had the many years before working fulltime for the OSBA: volunteer work as part of the extended board of directors :)

A quick view into the rearview mirror:

RE: https://marius.blog/jive-vocals/

Martin Wimpress @martin wrote Jive Vocals to sort out the audio for Linux Matters @linuxmatters.

It’s since found its way into other podcast productions, including mine.

I spoke to him about building it, borrowing ideas from old studio equipment, and what happened when the recordings weren’t as tidy as his own. #Audio #JiveVocals #Linux #macOS #OpenSource #Podcasting #Podcast

My latest blog "if it hurts, do it more" covers my experience making changes to engineering teams at Canonical over the past 5 years.

Engineering teams are complex, and it's easy for things to slip between the cracks. This post covers an approach that I've found useful for building competence in teams around certain kinds of tasks.

A bit of a break from the usual engineering content around #Ubuntu, but very relevant to how things are getting done behind the scenes!

#Nextcloud #OpenSource #DigitalSovereignty

Me: A harp.

Them: Bit small for a harp don’t you think?

Me: Are you calling me a lyre?
