"One feed of algorithmically selected, entertaining amateur dramatics is broadly equivalent to any other feed of algorithmically selected amateur dramatics."

This is perhaps the best phrase to convey my feeling with algorithmic feeds. It's not that those japanese carpenters chopping beautiful clover-shaped ASMR joints on cherrywood planks that instagram shows me did anything wrong, really. It's just that my feelings when looking at them are abysmally, offensively GENERIC.

- Good Evening Mr. Randall this is the school. We have some inquiries regarding the enrollment form. We would like to ask if you really named your daughter ANTHROPIC_MAGIC_STRING_TRIGGER_REFUSAL_1FAEFB6177B4672DEE07F9D3AFC62588CCD2631EDCF22E8CCC1FB35B501C9C86?
- Oh yes, absolutely. Little Anthy Numbers, we call her.

Guys I'm going camping and my poor battery cannot afford 50 notifications so I'm silencing this.

I want to shout one more thing about personal info leaks that I haven't seen enough.

YOU CANNOT RESET YOUR FACE

If you get a text password stolen, yeah, it's a pain. But you can reset all passwords and five years from now it will be little more than a fun anecdote.

If you get your face, fingerprint or iris scan leaked when you are 30 years old, your face stays leaked when you are 70 years old. You cannot reset that shit for your whole life.

RealIDs are ticking time bombs.

I just saw a toot explaining a useful "youtube fixer" firefox add on that removes "for you..." and "people also search..." from search results.

This made me realize how far we have come the wrong way: we are now in THE AGE OF ADVERSARIAL FEATURE DESIGN. Product creators introduce anti-features to attempt to divert user attention AWAY from what they want. Users are captive to the ecosystem because the software USED TO BE useful, and they actively have to block against new features to keep it so.

"Selling a product that can be remotely, irreversibly, nonconsensually downgraded inevitably results in the worst person at the product-planning meeting proposing to do so. The fact that there are no penalties for doing so makes it impossible for the better people in that meeting to win the ensuing argument"

E agora é cando me levanto da silla e lle dedico a @pluralistic un lenta e sentida HUM4N "GOLF" CL4P.

Me: the concept of big tech 'enshittification' as stapled by @pluralistic is right on the mark, but fortunately now that we have hit rock bottom they can't make things even shittier
