Ginza really liked her breakfast this morning. It was a can of Fancy Feast beef paté and it had extra gravy in it. She loves the cans that have extra juice.

I'm awake. I've fed Ginza her breakfast.
Despite the nap yesterday afternoon, I slept like the dead last night. Think I had a lot of cumulative sleep loss and it got big enough it basically shut me down yesterday afternoon onwards.
We'll see how today goes.
Just like people, cats can be classified as chaos muppets or order muppets.
Ginza is definitely an order muppet. She likes routines and security.
Although always remember that when cats get the zoomies, they are all then chaos muppets. #Caturday #CatsOfMastodon
I'm awake. I've fed Ginza her breakfast.
Last evening I had my first hamburger in a long while. I put it on the best gluten free hamburger bun I've ever tried yet. To rhyme with me eating a hamburgers, I gave Ginza a can of Fancy Feast beef paté for her dinner. She ate it all.
Solved the wordle this morning and streak is now 200 days long. Here's a screenshot of my stats:
I'm unsure what to make of how Ginza seems to love sleeping with a baseball. Truly the most impressive is when she does something which I really can't take a photo of, she sleeps entirely atop it, the ball hidden underneath her. #CatsOfMastodon
House gremlins get weird sometimes.
headed back out to the kitchen to eat more kibble. On her way back to the bedroom like she had done many times before, she stopped off at the litterbox in the hallway.
So at my computer, suddenly I heard the sound of her scratching around in the litterbox and then eventually she came back into the bedroom and jumped on the bed and nestled down to get more sleep.
I of course checked immediately to see if she had used it. She had. A big step had been cleared to turn Ginza into an indoor cat.
I'm awake again. I was up earlier and had breakfast then and fed Ginza hers. Then went back to sleep because I was tired.
Today is a big anniversary day with Ginza. One year ago for the first time ever she used the litterbox I had setup in the apartment for her and that made it possible to see if she would want to spend longer periods of time in the apartment.
I still remember it that morning. She had had breakfast and had stayed as she would usually. I was at the computer and she had
and that combined with his natural physical gifts helped to turn him into a world champion cyclist and one who won the Tour de France 3 times. He first won it in 1986, then was shot in a hunting accident, came back from that injury and won the TdF again in 1989 and 1990.
It's also interesting to read the thinking of that time about training, nutrition, and recovery.
I had a book delivered this past week. Greg Lemond's Complete Book of Bicycling (1987). I've read through it once already though for a couple of days the reading I did was very non-absorbing thanks to being sick. But I find it a good book to have now, one reason being it was written in 1987 and has a chapter on maintenance of bicycles from that time and Vela is a bicycle from that era.
It's also interesting to get a glimpse into Lemond's head, he has ADHD. Cycling became his special interest
I've eaten an early lunch. Just washed dishes from that and yesterday. We'll see how I'm feeling 2 to 3 hours from now and decide then whether or not to do a short bicycle ride.
Appetite is improving though my stomach still rebels at times if I try imagining what it would be like to eat various foods.
Ginza is having a good snooze on the bed. She looks comfy, peaceful, and happy.
Back from errands. Remembered to buy canned soups and other foods that are convenient when I'm sick or have low spoons.
It's dark and gray currently though dry. Windy. Very strong wind from the south.
I should eat food. Need more calories and nutrients after being sick and eating so little during the week.
Maybe I can do a short bicycle ride this afternoon and see how that feels.
I slept pretty well last night except for the nightmares. JFC. A train of them, all of them politically themed.
So I'm awake. I've eaten breakfast and have fed Ginza her. I feel almost fully recovered from being sick during the week. Just a little left over congestion. Body aches are gone. Garmin body battery is over 90%. Depending on the weather later today, I might do a short bicycle ride. Last time I rode Vela was 6 days ago.
Took a shower to clean myself up and I feel better having done so.
I hate getting sick. It always makes me feel so miserable and weak.
One year ago today I was leaving on a jet plane, taking a trip across the country to visit what would become my new home. On that Thursday, I tried to tell Ginza that I would be gone for 5 days, but I would be back. Of course she had no idea that I wasn't going to come outside in the early mornings and call for her and ask her to come inside and eat breakfast.
I asked her to use the cat shelter I had built for her and put in front of the apartment. Alt text has more
From a year ago, here's a photo of Ginza. She was becoming more trusting of me and I had even been granted permission at times to give her tummy rubs.
A couple of days ago, I began asking Ginza, "Are you a good cat?"
Then I say, "No, you're not a good cat..."
"You're the best cat, aren't you?"
I'm awake. I've had tea and my breakfast. I've fed Ginza her breakfast and she was hungry for that.
There was a stretch, maybe because of the summer weather, Ginza more often slept down near my feet. But now she's sleeping more up near my shoulders and it's a great comfort when I wake up and find Ginza tucked tightly against the blankets and me.
Today is my last day of vacation. I'll probably cycle 15 miles, my body feels fully recovered now from Friday's long ride.
I'm awake, didn't sleep too well after I woke up around 1230 and from then on I only lightly dozed in the twilight between awake and asleep.
Falling asleep last night was lovely though. It was cool enough that Ginza wanted to cuddle close for warmth as well, so she feel asleep with my right hand curled around her. When we do that, she doesn't mind at all if my hand is touching her front paws.
I've eaten breakfast and will soon feed Ginza hers.
Ginza's napping intensity is near record levels this cloudy morning. #CatsOfMastodon
I'm awake. I'll soon feed Ginza her breakfast, I've had mine. The weekend went by all too fast and all too slow all the same time.
News over the weekend caused me a lot of anxiety and I have a lot of thoughts and worries. I don't think people realize how dangerous things are becoming in the USA.
I feel very on edge.
Supposed to sunny today and temps will climb to 70F. That'll be nice and I should enjoy a leisurely walk and bicycle ride later on.
I've eaten first breakfast and will have a second breakfast in about 4 hours. Soon I will fed Ginza hers, right now she's taking a nap on the bed atop her heating pad which arrived yesterday. I've got it turned on for now while it's still dark and chilly outside.
