One of the biggest US tech reliance things we have at home is, well, Google Home.

Now, the vast majority of devices are boring; coloured lamps, power switches and speakers.

All family members use these for various functions. Most lights & success can be configured with other apps (e.g. Smart Life) but the primary issue is voice control.

How could we retain voice control with a non-US company's setup? EU options?
