Sometimes yall will post something important, or something that has trauma behind it. And I'll really want to say something, but I don't, because my reply isn't important. So I'll just give you a lil Favorite™️ instead, even if that's not helpful either.

White peoples:
1. Please remember to boost the voices of indigenous people today in honor of Indigenous Peoples Day.
2. Learn a little bit about the land you're on and the people who lived or still live there. Especially if you're in a colonized territory like the US. Try to find their perspectives, not outsiders writing about them.
3. Decolonize. It's good for you! It's good for everyone! It'll dump a bunch of unhealthy and limiting views to enrich and expand your horizons.
4. Remember that you, too, came from an indigenous background. It was just a lot longer ago! Think about digging into your own roots, learning about your specific tribal background(s), and your own culture(s) that were erased or misappropriated when Christianity colonized Europe a thousand years ago.
In the meantime, I 'm going to get Really Fucking High and try and rest.
(as usual, have a swak o replies to get to when I have chat chuff, I'm not ignoring ya'll💖)
Anyway...
Without irony, I ask for your "thoughts and prayers."
There is some combo of meds that when it lands right I am ok. Most of the time it doesn't land right.
So am accepting all prayers, well wishes, offerings to dieties, magic spells, and mojo movings. Whatever ya got. I'll take those vibes.
In chaotic systems, butterflies rule.
Ug, ever get mad about being so fekkin tired even the smallest tasks are utterly beyond you?
And then get extra mad when being mad doesn't even give you the adrenaline bump to get some of that shit done anyway?
Like what's the point of getting mad if it doesn't get shit done? And wtf do you do with anger when you literally can't act on it?
[I am apparently having an existential crisis along with an adrenal crash - wheeee]
*sits motionless*
*glares at existence*
In case you need to hear it:
Continuing to survive in a society that just wants to consume you and throw you away is punk af.
Well done. Carry on.
...also, messy surviving is still surviving.
Something I struggle with a lot is with patients who want to die because of their new disabilities. I have had suicidal ideation and what has got me back usually is focussing on the future. Which is very difficult for these people. And my brain wants to present logical reasons why suicide isn't the answer but often all I can do is agree, that life sucks enormously and likely isn't going to get measurably better (I'm specifically talking about patients who are making no progress with rehab, when people are making progress, focusing on the future usually helps).
Does anyone have advice on what has helped them overcome suicidal feelings after becoming disabled?
We need art when language is insufficient.
I'm trying to scrounge up good resources on how organizations like arts nonprofits and libraries might do "online presence" and "marketing" without doing any of that via facebook, x, or any other corporate-owned social media silo.
we've got a (cool) low-power FM public radio station and a couple of (very nazi) print newspapers in the area but like... is there a book on How To Public Media?
genAI is not an accessibility aid jesus FUCKING christ

If you’re still masking… thank you!
It may feel lonely but you’re not alone
Many of us are still wearing masks and trying to break chains of transmission
As the world falls apart…protecting your health and the health of others is paramount
It’s resistance & community care.

This is your random reminder nature will be just fine as soon as we stop being horrible to it.
Heh. Noticed the missed comma and now I can't stop saying:
IT'S THE WEED VALERIE!
*wild and uncultivated*
*annoyingly resilient*
@vlrny The thing I found about weed for chronic pain isn’t so much that it stops the pain as it stops me from caring about the pain. :)
