Today is #BandcampFriday and that means a little self-promo.
The music I made is based in hope, dreams, longing for a better world and the societal will to make it so. No sampling involved except the cult film quotes.

Thank you for listening, and boosting!
Some of you did not listen to enough Henry Rollins and it shows.
Music for dark times. The tracks speak to a need for hope, to find the light, and to find strength to fight against sinister forces.
The music itself is heavily influenced by industrial music, and electronic cinematic ambient artists like Tangerine Dream.
Hello #Fedi
Tomorrow is #BandcampFriday and my albums are marked down.
My #music is mostly instrumental, frequently dramatic, sometimes very serene. I enjoy working with layers of sound design and non-traditional percussion. Cult film dialogue samples shape the overt context of some more edgy industrial-inspired tracks.

Thank you for your boosts!
I can not emphasize enough how you should rewatch Aeon Flux in light of today's politics and technology
Not long after I posted a photo of my older dog, she came out of my room dragging her leg. She appears to have some amount of paralysis she did not have yesterday.
We know she's been on a major decline lately. She is too quiet and passive to tell us how bad she feels, I knew it would have to be like this before we would know it was time.
I gave her turkey slices she likes a lot, but she barely ate them.
I am falling apart with grief.
Lily is about 16 years old. She has a doctorate degree in Blepiology.
Wish me luck. I think I scored a hammered dulcimer for FREEEEEE
A #collab I worked on with #ClassicalGuitarist Phil Weaver. I did all the non-guitar parts. I used #SampledAudio from an unspecified Hindu ceremony. Some is experimental #ElectricCello I improvised with intent to be "nightmarish". There is #VST cello as well that I composed. Ah, and rain sounds from my window. Gotta love a little Zoom mic.
I like to give compositions an emotional context, and sometimes a whole time-place backstory.
This was about "touch".

Sometimes, you gaze into the abyss. Sometimes, the abyss gazes into YOU.

@BobWilliams look look... omg
Thank you @recursivedelete@mastodon.social for the studio assist today.
Slightly intimidating, adjusting from purely MIDI composing to working with a classically trained collaborator, and mixing modern VSTs with traditional classical guitar - a fast-moving, all arpeggio piece at that, too! (Kapsberger's Arpeggio Tocatta)
Can't wait to do more experimental, improvisational takes on other classical pieces with the same guitarist.
The bar was widely supported by local artists when they wanted to reopen, but the owner can't find a way to support a single artist in return?
Can't ask for volunteers?
Can't make a plate of food for someone who did him a service?
No.. he chooses unethical AI on purpose without trying other methods because he does not care about what he's doing or why.
I don't know how you respond to that, but I won't support businesses that use AI.
Where I live there was a beloved dive bar that was closed for 20 or more years. It recently reopened to much acclaim.
However, one of the owners is using AI regularly for unnecessary social media graphics.
When called on it, he complained about being unable to pay for graphic design.
What happened to graphics in exchange for free admission and a plate of food?
The bar survived before without graphic design. It could do it again. That guy lacks imagination, community support, AND scruples.
Friends, it is #BandcampFriday again!
Are you in the mood for something ambient with a bit of an edge? Something with a beat, and some cinematic bite? Something that tells the sonic story of our times with no words?

Today was so rough. Detailed mixing help, troubleshooting VSTs. The problems I noticed were fixed, problems I did not notice were also fixed. Now... let us hope the client likes it.
We found out certain piano VSTs do not have mic placement options, but others do, and that was an assumption others made - that the piano they told me to use could be adjusted, but it could not, and it was the source of glitchy bs. So we got to change it, and solve several issues at once.
Much relieved!!
I am in the process of moving all my music off #Spotify. If you prefer #Qobuz like I do for now, you can find my #music here:

Welcome to the #holiday season, friends.
This was my attempt at modernizing a classic favorite. Here is a little #MusicVideo to accompany the #CarolOfTheBells #remix I created.
Here's hoping we survive another #Xmas and live well in the coming #NewYear
