‘You Are Murderers!’ ‘Get the F*ck Out!’: Fury at #ICE Agents Boils in #Minneapolis

“#Protesters... are furious, and tensions are exploding,” said one independent journalist. “This is escalation, not policing.”

by Jon Queally, Jan 11, 2026

Excerpt: "While many state and local lawmakers and other officials calling for calm and peaceful protest in response, many—including Rep. #IlhanOmar (D-Minn.) also believe that #Trump and members of his administration are intentionally trying to provoke the civilian population in order to justify an ever harsher repressive response.

"In comments on Saturday, as Common Dreams reported, Omar warned that the ultimate goal is 'to agitate people enough where they are able to invoke the #InsurrectionAct to declare #MartialLaw.' "

"We take a close look at Donald Trump’s campaign and racist rally at #MadisonSquareGarden with filmmaker Marshall Curry, who attended the rally and also directed the short film 'A Night at the Garden,' about the 1939 Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden, and notes, 'The #demagogues in 1939 used the same tactics that we see today.'"

@autistics I suspect he's ND as well (and sometimes he acknowledges that), but then he accuses me of picking a fight. To which I reply, "Um, you're the one raising your voice."

Venting...
Kinda getting tired of masking and expected to figure out stupid shit that folks say.
Example. Hubby asks, "What do you want to watch on TV tonight?"
I name a couple of shows in a normal but enthusiastic tone. "I think Abbott and Scrubs are on TV tonight."
Hubby: "Slow it down!"
Me (thinking what?) replies very slowly, "I think Ab-bott and Scrubs are on TV to-night."
Hubby gets annoyed and not amused. I don't get him sometimes...
"Why the hell did you even ask?" Ugh.

@MatthewToadAgain @DoomsdaysCW Action Network needs to ensure NOW that they are not retaining any data no longer needed for operational purposes.

@MatthewToadAgain @DoomsdaysCW One way to survive is to keep things small enough not to depend on banking at all. Another is to use underground financial systems same as anyone else targetted by the US can.

If they are going to treat us as terrorists, we have to be able to set up servers, set up safe houses, and move money like terrorists.

US terror designations don't stop resistance groups in Palestine do they?

@DoomsdaysCW I've been half expecting him to ban Action Network for the last two years. Especially after he killed Autistici Inventati even though it was based in Italy. Could be one consequence of this legislation.

@DoomsdaysCW @justbob dog food is one of the things I give folks . Tarps, socks, dog food.

#Tlaib, #ACLU, and advocates warn #HR9495 could empower Trump to silence nonprofits and stifle dissent

#Progressives and #CivilRights groups sound the alarm over legislation that could allow President-elect #Trump to strip nonprofits of their tax-exempt status without evidence, threatening #FreeSpeech and #democracy.

By Alexis Sterling -
November 15, 2024

"The bill does not require officials to provide an explanation for designating a group, nor does it obligate the #TreasuryDepartment to present evidence of wrongdoing. This lack of accountability has raised alarm bells among advocates who see it as a tool for #authoritarian #suppression.

"#RashidaTlaib Tlaib has been one of the most vocal opponents of the bill, particularly given its timing amidst heightened protests over U.S. support for Israel’s military actions in #Gaza. 'This is authoritarianism,' Tlaib said. 'This bill is designed to silence dissent and give Trump #UncheckedPower to target groups he doesn’t agree with'.'

"Other progressive lawmakers echoed her concerns. Rep. #SummerLee (D-Pa.) called the legislation 'a giant threat to free speech,' warning that it would allow the government to “label any nonprofit as ‘terrorist-supporting’ without evidence or due process—opening the door to crush opposition and silence dissent.' Rep. #IlhanOmar (D-Minn.) added that 'no one person should have the authority to silence organizations that dare to challenge government policies or speak uncomfortable truths.'

"Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.), who is leaving Congress after losing his primary to a candidate backed by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (#AIPAC), described the bill as 'extremely dangerous.' He cautioned that it 'will sink us further into #authoritarianism. It is an extremely dangerous bill that would give the government unlimited power to stop the work of #humanitarian groups and target political enemies. All without transparency or evidence.'

While the bill is widely seen as a response to criticism of U.S. support for Israel, its potential impact goes far beyond organizations advocating for Palestinian rights. Costello warned that 'the danger is much broader than just groups that work on foreign policy. It could target major liberal funders who support #PalestinianSolidarity and peace groups who engage in #protest. But it could also theoretically be used to target #ProChoice groups, and I could see it being used against #environmental groups.'

"#JewishVoiceForPeace Action’s political director Beth Miller described the legislation as 'terrifying,' emphasizing its potential to suppress civil society across the board. “This bill should be a five-alarm fire for anyone who seeks to protect free speech, civil society, and democracy. This is part of a broader #MAGA assault on the right to protest that begins with attacks on #Palestinian rights groups and is aimed at outlawing the #SocialJustice movements that fight for progressive change. This is part of a well-worn authoritarian playbook to dismantle fundamental freedoms.”

#IlhanOmar: #Trump's ‘obsession' is ‘#creepy and unhealthy' as raids expand

Jason K. Morrell
Thu, December 4, 2025 at 7:17 AM EST

"Two major federal #immigration operations were underway Wednesday in #Minneapolis and #NewOrleans. They unfolded just as President Donald Trump delivered new attacks on Somali immigrants and on Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar.

"#CivilRights groups say the timing and rhetoric are escalating fear in immigrant communities already bracing for enforcement actions.

Omar responds to Trump's comments

"Trump on Wednesday launched a new round of criticism aimed at #Somali immigrants, Minnesota's largest immigrant community. He told reporters that 'Somalians should be out of here" and claimed they had "destroyed our country.'

"He said Somalia was 'not even a nation' and that he hoped never to visit, drawing condemnation from Minneapolis officials.

"The president then turned his ire to Omar, who is #SomaliAmerican and a frequent target his attacks. He said, "You have her talking about ‘The constitution provides me with …' Go back to your own country and figure out your constitution.'

"Omar responded, saying, 'Our president's obsession with me and the Somali community really is creepy and unhealthy.'

"She added that her constituents 'are not going to be scapegoated' and 'are here to stay.'

"NBC News reporting indicates federal officials are preparing an enforcement operation in Minnesota that could focus heavily on Somali immigrants living unlawfully in the U.S.

Raids already underway in Minneapolis

"Federal immigration agents began operations in Minneapolis just hours before Trump made the comments. Officials say they are targeting immigrants accused of serious crimes, though advocates warn the sweeps are casting a much wider net.

What's happening in New Orleans

"In #NewOrleans, specifically in #Kenner, a suburb with one of #Louisiana's largest #Hispanic populations, residents saw #BorderPatrol agents in marked and unmarked vehicles driving slowly through neighborhoods, gas stations and big-box store parking lots, according to the Associated Press and NBC News.

"Reporters observed agents stopping at least one man mowing a lawn and surrounding another home where a man climbed onto the roof until officers eventually left. Many agents wore Border Patrol identifiers but had their faces covered.

"A #DHS official said the New Orleans surge is aimed at immigrants accused of crimes including home invasion, armed robbery, grand theft auto and rape. The agency has blamed 'sanctuary-style' local policies for allowing some people with ICE detainers to be released from custody.

Fear across immigrant neighborhoods

"The tactics have rattled families across #JeffersonParish and surrounding communities.

"A #Honduran immigrant told Noticias Telemundo he has avoided leaving his home for two weeks.

" 'We've stopped going to work because our fear is that we'll be stopped,' he said."

What do #VanceBoelter and #ErikPrince have in common? Quite a bit! But Prince prefers to farm out #Assassinations to his minions!

#Theocratic #Mercenary Erik Prince and the #ChristianRight

by Mike Kuhlenbeck • 19 June 2018

"Erik Dean Prince was born in Holland, Michigan, on June 6, 1969, the youngest child and only son of Edgar and Elsa Prince, who also had daughters Betsy, Emilie, and Eileen. As documented by author Suzanne Simons in her 2009 book Master of War: #Blackwater USA’s Erik Prince and the Business of War, Prince grew up in a religious household and attended Christian schools; the Princes were members of the Reformed Church in America, a conservative Christian sect that follows the philosophical template of theologian John Calvin.

"Edgar Prince worked as a die caster and then chief engineer for the die cast machine manufacturing outfit Buss Machine Works after serving in the US Air Force. In 1965 he and two co-workers struck out on their own to establish Prince Manufacturing. By the 1970s the company expanded its operations and became financially successful, as did the Prince family. Edgar Prince died of heart failure in 1995, and the company was sold to Johnson Controls for over $1 billion.

"Surrounded by those who share their belief in Christian-based politics, the Prince family has used its fortune to help build the #ConservativeChristian movement. Focus on the Family founder James Dobson and Richard Nixon’s disgraced former special counsel Charles Colson (who became a born-again Christian after serving seven months in prison for his role in the Watergate scandal) were family friends. Edgar and Elsa Prince were major contributors to the Family Research Council and founded the nonprofit Edgar and Elsa Prince Foundation in 1979, substantial funds from which have gone toward the effort to abolish the legal wall separating church and state. The Prince family also has deep ties to the Council for National Policy (#CNP) which, according to its vision statement, supports “a united conservative movement to assure, by 2020, policy leadership and governance that restores religious and economic freedom, a strong national defense, and #JudeoChristian values under the Constitution.”

"From Reverend #BillyGraham’s “spiritual counsel” to twelve US presidents, to Reverend #JerryFalwell’s #MoralMajority movement of the 1970s and ’80s, to Marion Gordon #PatRobertson’s #ChristianCoalition (now the #ChristianCoalitionOfAmerica), the movement to push a #fundamentalist “Judeo-Christian” agenda into the public sphere has been an ongoing crusade. Keeping with family tradition, Erik Prince’s sister Betsy married fellow Christian right figure Dick DeVos, whose father is the founder of Amway and the past president of the CNP from 1990-1993. Betsy DeVos served as the chair of the Michigan Republican Party and now serves as US Secretary of Education under Donald Trump. The DeVos dynasty, labelled a “family of extremists” by the Center for American Progress, is undoubtedly having an influence on the Trump White House."

I've been making the comparison since 2016. About time the mainstream media wakes TF up!

Mainstream Media Was Afraid to Compare Trump to Hitler. Now the Press Has No Excuse.

Statements by John Kelly, Trump’s former chief of staff, have made it nearly impossible for the media to avoid Hitler comparisons.

by James Risen
October 25 2024,

"For decades, reporters have been taught not to make Hitler analogies in stories about American politics. Adolf Hitler was so uniquely evil that any comparison of an American politician with the Nazi leader was considered unfair and out of bounds.

"And then came Donald Trump.

"Trump is the first modern American political figure to force journalists to reassess whether Hitler references meet their editorial standards.

"In my columns and other articles for The Intercept, I have drawn attention to the increasingly obvious parallels between Hitler and Trump and between the #Nazi movement and the #MAGA cult. Yet most mainstream journalists have stubbornly stuck to the de facto ban on Hitler analogies and have refused to compare the two. That reluctance to point out the truth about Trump has been part of a larger pattern in the media of the so-called sane-washing of Trump, in which his demagoguery, wild conspiracy theories, and racist proposals are given credence and serious treatment by the political press corps.

"But in explosive new statements, Trump’s own former White House chief of staff has made it virtually impossible for the press to justify a continued ban on Trump/Hitler references. John Kelly, a retired Marine general and Trump’s longest serving chief of staff, told the New York Times and The Atlantic in interviews published this week that when he was president, Trump made it clear that he admired Hitler and yearned for his authoritarian power.

"Kelly said that Trump repeatedly said in private that Hitler 'did some good things,' and that Trump said he wanted the kind of 'German generals' who served under Hitler and committed unspeakable war crimes in World War II.

"Kelly said he is convinced that Trump is a fascist.

"In his interview with the New York Times, Kelly pointed out the definition of fascist, and said that it fits Trump: 'Well, looking at the definition of fascism: It’s a far-right authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy … he certainly falls into the general definition of fascist, for sure.'

"Meanwhile, Kelly told The Atlantic that Trump wanted American generals to act like Hitler’s Nazi generals. Kelly recalled asking Trump, 'Surely you can’t mean Hitler’s generals?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, yeah, Hitler’s generals.'"

But it's okay for #NeoNazis and #WhiteSupremacists to storm the White House, eh?

"[Closet #Nazi] #StephenMiller, an immigration hardliner and the White House deputy chief of staff, wrote on X that Friday's demonstrations were 'an insurrection against the laws and sovereignty of the United States.' On Saturday, he described the day's protests as a 'violent insurrection.' "

Can Trump Strip #IlhanOmar of Her Citizenship? Here's How the Process Works

by Philip Wan, 10/14/2026

"In a highly unusual step, federal agents this week aggressively intensified their investigations into Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of #Minnesota, weeks before she stands for reelection in her home district.

"The Department of Justice on Tuesday subpoenaed relatives of Omar’s family members, including her sister #SahraNoor , according to The New York Times. The grand jury subpoenas were issued shortly after a raid of the lawmaker’s residence in Washington, D.C. on Monday. "
