Some musings on Germany/EU, as I understand it. Please tell me what I get wrong.
Germany is Europe’s pre-eminent industrial society. That industrialism relies upon a steady, predictable and extremely resource-hungry stream.
Apart from coal, Germany does not have the keystone minerals it needs at anything like the scale its economy demands.
It has spent decades implying that this doesn’t matter, because 🦄 just-in-time globalism 🦄
But it really really does when it really really falters
