I logged in to LinkedIn to see a page full of people praising DHH, got mad, and wrote this. Less than 12 hours later I got an email telling me "Your post doesn’t comply with our Professional Community Policies on bullying and harassment. It’s been removed from LinkedIn and only you can access it."
Big tech is more and more mask-off every day.

Market research has found there's a significant number of people in the marketplace looking for things outside the marketplace. Not sure how to respond.
pro tip: tell your boss the AI said you’ll be more efficient at home and see which one of their irrational beliefs wins out
Tesla put its breathtakingly ugly Cybercab on Austin streets Thursday: it has no steering wheel, no pedals, and no door handles. Tesla published an emergency guide on its website telling first responders the robotaxi can be pushed to clear a lane, but warns that pushing it over 5mph risks overheating the motor and electric shock. The car must be “caged” before interacting with it. And, “not every high voltage component is labeled.” The guide also says first responders should contact the company “via the car’s communications system or phone… If Tesla cannot be reached by phone, the manual advises first responders to use an email address to learn more about how to move the Tesla and warns, ‘This email is not monitored for emergency requests.’” [NBC News]

The heirs to Hitler's Nazi party have almost captured a German state for the first time since WW2 and the first thing they did was thank Elon Musk 😞
Please, even if this seems a really tiny thing, stop using Twitter/X, stop linking to Twitter/X, stop doing anything that gives Twitter/X accounts visibility of any kind. Tell others to leave, especially organisations and media. He is using Twitter/X to promote actual full-on fascism by manipulating media discourse, and simply being there or sending traffic there helps him do that.
Hi, mastodon 🦣 - can you help me out?
If you can test https://cdpn.io/pen/debug/NPpPdMy in actual Safari, what do you see?
The expected result in the 1st screen (both video elements blurred = what I see in Firefox/ Chromium browsers)?
Or the result I get when testing via Epiphany (2nd screen, only second video element blurred)?
If you cannot test yourself, boosts appreciated.
Thanks!

Tech nostalgia
New: James Carville, who has been calling to purge the left wing of the Democratic Party, was a senior advisor to a lobbying shop that was paid more than half a million dollars by a crypto industry group as crypto money poured in to knock out progressives.

The terrible UX of popping a modal over most of the page when you first get to the site is now so widespread even the fun/humbling zoom from space animation of Google Earth is now ruined by it
> This is the standard tech playbook. Fire the engineers who know how the system works, fire the ones organizing labor, hope nothing catastrophic breaks before you can ship something splashy. Twitter did it. Meta did it. Salesforce did it. Google did it. We have all seen this movie.

It's often uneasy for me to share my experiences as a woman in tech, but this job market has me worried for everyone stuck somewhere harmful. I admire everyone who takes on "women in tech" speaking gigs but I am also angry for them and us.
HEY YOU, QUICKLY, BOOST THIS POST I NEED TO STRESS THIS SHITTY SERVER
The legacy of Harry Potter fully fucking needs to be anybody who says a remotely positive thing about it, normal human beings just glare at you like you said Triumph of the Will is "good cinema if you just look past the politics" and don't invite you to things anymore.
