In 1929, white supremacist Lothrop Stoddard challenged sociologist W.E.B. Du Bois to a public debate over race and IQ. Even in that benighted time, the white guy lost. So why are shits like Musk and Thiel still at it?

this has been broken forever, still broken as of this morning
2/2

I have moved my personal github repos to codeberg
I have not [yet] deleted my account, which is now getting spammed by crypto garbage, and github.com is so fucked that you can not delete the notifications nor "you've been added to a repository" garbage from the web nor app UX
Great job, losers; put down the AI crack pipe and tend to your infrastructure

If you are in the same boat, here's the delightful workaround:
be sure you have `gh` and `jq` installed:
1/2

worker responds:
'Your data has nothing to do with the "AI".

AI's knowledge is based on general information, and we do not use a neighbor's information for it.'

I ask them to square that statement with the quote from their CEO bragging about their "LLM for every neighborhood where we’ve taken 15 years of neighbor conversations"

And now they've ghosted me. Shocked Fry dot Gif

Someone is lying, I wonder who it could be?

one for the bucket o slop? @davidgerard

...and they required an off-site email response, as if being logged in somehow doesn't "verify your identity". Typical shitfuckery

Days later they eventually say they have removed "all the data we have collected from you"

I send the quote from their CEO and ask them to confirm they will be re-training their LLM in order to accomodate this claim

A different worker responds that my "case" has been escalated, then says:

'When we mentioned that "your personal information and all the data we have collected from you" has been removed, it means we also deleted all of your data, including your posts, chats, and all personal information, together with the account.'

I reply that this does not clear up anything, and ask about their "truly local AI powered by neighbor conversations"

...

Remember when the CEO of Nextdoor said this?

'We have an LLM for every neighborhood where we’ve taken 15 years of neighbor conversations and we can now answer questions about that information in a really compelling way,” Tolia said. “So we have the first, as far as we know, the first truly local AI that’s powered by neighbor conversations.”'

I deleted my account vs just disabling

Which you can't do from the interface but must "contact support"

It took a while...

The first action is simple. CEOs should now, this summer, this month, next week, sign a pledge not to use labor from concentration camps. It could be as simple as that: "On behalf of my firm I promise not to use labor from concentration camps nor to cooperate with any firm that does."

In case you need a reminder that the slop machines are incapable of introspection; they bullshit about how they function just as readily as they bullshit about everything else.

The synthetic text extrusion machines seem to have adopted the Facebook Congressional Hearings model - just do shady unethical shit and apologize profusely when called out, while changing nothing.
