Seriously, there can't be a good smartphone in the ethical sense. It doesn't matter how open or repairable the hardware is. Smartphones are a tool of dopamine loop attention capture.

Every moment someone spends on a "smart" phone is a moment stolen from humanity, a moment stolen from a community, a moment stolen from a family.

#RetroComputing and #PermaComputing are very different things, and I see some people getting them confused. If you are interested in sustainable computing, PermaComputing may be more aligned with your interests as compared to RetroComputing.

I'm playing around with spam filtering on my instance, and it flagged something I thought you might want to look at:

Re- #Introduction since my server is now relaying with #CORTEXIMPLANT and enjoying some of the CI posts now showing up on my local feed!

Thanks @revengeday @lucy for help in relaying and getting this server set up (my server is running the Cortex Implant codebase here: https://github.com/CORTEXIMPLANT/mastodon)

I'm nonbinary in the 40s xennial they/them/he/him sort of way, with a love for 90s/00s pop culture and cyberpunk aesthetics. I have a bunch of kids - don't know how that happened - so I don't have too much time to post cool creative things here, and I live in the DC metro area, work as a corpo govcon, and know a lot of people who have been impacted by ALL THIS even more than I have so far, so I can be a bit political at times, especially now that CISA is getting hit (if you've seen me joke about hanging out at NetWatch, I probably meant I was doing something related to CISA.)

I sometimes have strong opinions, and I'm wrong a lot, so I'm open to criticism and changing my mind.

But not for everything, because trans rights are human rights, and I'm not gonna budge on that.

I'm following a lot of accounts so I can see amazing things on my personal single-user MastoCortexShrimplant.

If you're looking for a vibe check, I'm hoping for great things, especially for you!
