One of the good things about living in the MidRed... A pal was out shooting #duck tonight. He stopped by my apt with some very fresh duck breasts. Shot at 630pm..so very fresh. From my indoor #hydroponic garden I picked some #basil, radish greens, radishes, and from the pantry some tiny oranges....air fried the duck with salt, Szechuan pepper corns, soy and ginger glaze...and in 20 mins ... #aptgarden #kratkyfood

These #hydroponic #peppers better git to growing, I'm using a #kratky setup of a hoocho bucket of cococoir and cotton wick on top a 5 gal bucket of water and nutrients...but the level is getting low now the fruiting is on.

I could add back in maybe 1 gal of mix to keep it fruiting, but I really want to see how #SetAndForget I can get this.

(Also adding back into a #kratky setup is a dance, too much and you drown the air roots. )

#aptgarden update....simplify redux

After years of playing with #hydroponics the lesson I have learned is ..simplify.

5 gal buckets, water, nutrients, container for substrate, cotton rope for wicking , seed, lights....done

All the #Aerogarden clones and pricey lights....for my scale and need...bye bye.

For my windows it's a scaled down version with #masonjars and net cups instead.
The results over the years are my proof. Simpler makes better.

I love this fella. His mad genius musical inventions have spurred my own works. A few months back I bought an #Overtone #Flute kit of his and it was great. This project tops that for playability and versatility. Plus if it helps him make more musical inventions...I'm in.

First rough of the #sliderule idea. Top and bottom #scales are offset to relative maj/min. Slide part in the mid scale and semitone offsets. If I print these rather than hand scribble I will get data and at least another scale on top. The backside of this will have #chord building as seen in the previous notes ..but more. Again... penmanship...who knew it would still be needed. (@ridetheory , that's who.)

Why am I badly reinventing music theory as a set of modulo number plays in chicken scratches? Idunno....but I have an idea to make music gen slide rules or some such.
