It is interesting that American rights are absolute culture has no trouble in accepting that free speech rights do not apply to libel and slander when financial damages can be sought by the wealthy but hate speech aimed at the discriminated against and vulnerable populations is a completely different matter.

Caring about people vs loving cruelty are NOT policy differences.

"We always follow the law" usually means "we are as evil as we can get away with under the law by using every conceivable loophole.".

If changing our clocks really made sense we would change them 10 minutes a month for each of six months then 10 minutes the other way for each of six months.

OR just leave them alone.

The rest of the world ,but especially Canada, is so overwhelmed with American news and media that we need to watch that we are not commenting on posts re USA that sound like we are commenting as Americans. I have had to rephrase replies more than a few times.

I always thought Substack was a dumb name for a blogging/newsletter site, perhaps dreamed up by some techies .

The time has come I have unsubscribed from all Substack newsletters and entered the "Danger Zone" and deleted all my activity and my account. Hopefully all progressive voices will leave as well.
