I am reading Tim Berners-Lee's memoir "This Is For Everyone", about his life and the creation of the web, and here's a sentence I didn't expect to see:

On Saturday, the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band won the World Championship. By now you'd think there'd be some mention of this huge achievement at https://www.sfu.ca
But no.
If my school won the world championship of anything, it'd be on the home page within two minutes.

There’s a video. The guy charges himself $1 on his POS, enters the wrong pin three times, and it’s just ‘approved’.
Supposedly this is a fallback, to allow chip-and-signature, but nothing is actually asking for the signature.
This can’t be right.
OK what the heck? Enter the wrong PIN three times, and the transaction goes through anyway, and the bank says ‘that’s how it’s supposed to work’??????
