One reason to prefer the pizza kitchen to the world of software development: concreteness. This concreteness avoids one of the oldest ongoing battles in professional software development.
This year @viteconf.org@bsky.brid.gy is back online for all to enjoy! For three years, I've been sharing ideas about what docs is. Tune in for 2026 to hear my take on what docs is... not?

When starting a project, I notice three stages:
1: Deal with the torrent of new things.
2: Rest. (Do the minimum it takes to tread water.)
3: Hack away every day until you find your groove.
So many folks feel guilty in Stage 2 and rush to Stage 3. I recommend against it.
Finally coming up for air after life kind of turned upside-down on me. So many changes; so much new. Had some challenges, but I'm settling into a new normal.
Found a new choir to join, and their website is Astro (?!?!), so maybe this is the universe's way of saying it's all gonna work out. 😂
When you need pizza late, please call your order in early, so we know to keep the light on for you. Thanks! (And thanks to the person who did that for us tonight!)
The @astro month-end blog post and newsletter have been drafted! If you're not subscribed (to either/both), now's a good time:
https://astro.build/newsletter/signup/ - Just a tiny taste to whet your appetite. A handful of news items, and your monthly "Top 10".
https://astro.build/rss.xml - The full 8-course meal! (Too big?? NEVER!) Put on your stretchy pants and dig in!

My initial hopes that this was a post about a cappella were soon dashed... 😂
The smartest teams trust Starlight with their docs 🌟
Speed, accessibility, SEO, flexibility. Choose four.
It's in the paper, so I guess it's official now!
See you soon, Manitoba! It's been a minute...
I had LONG given up hope of having any hits on my "Sony RX10V" search/alert, but yet, here we are.
(When you buy a whole bowling alley, WHAT'S ONE LITTLE NEW BIRDING CAMERA in comparison, right??)

New @astro site in 4... 3... 2
Brb... updating my profile to add "Bowling Alley Proprietress"
It's strange having client docs work that's *not* open source, so I don't know how public to be. 😅
But, if you happen to know whose docs I'm helping... just published a batch of small but strategic sidebar nav & onboarding changes to usher in the weekend that (I think) make a HUGE difference. 💪

This is probably one of the weirdest things I’ve done, but was a fun bit of world building.
@yanthomasdev wanted a football shirt, so the Astro Cinematic Universe had to expand.
Based on my regular home play from the couch, pretty sure that my signature form of Jeopardy! question if I ever got on the show would be, "Is it...?" 😅
It's Global Big (bird) Day! An excuse to go hang out in one of my favourite spots before the baseball game. (And, no day is complete without some blue jays!)
Starlight 0.39 just dropped! New ways to use autogenerated sidebar links, plus improvements to styling and multilingual docs. Read all about it 👇
"The ambition to produce in quantity is dangerous because it deprives you of the enjoyment of being both a friend to your ideas and a friend to your materials. Materials have qualities which will speak if you listen. Let the artist go slowly; [s]he must give time and labor without counting."
