Here's a non bullshit, non slop use of AI: I'm using plantnet.org image recognition to identify orchids. In this case, it's even aiding in conservation (I'm working on some construction project, as the "biodiversity consultant / least popular person with the management").
Customers can't enter the venue because of all the robots queueing for "free candy". Children were amazed at first, but now they are just annoyed. Robots are getting pesky, they insist on going behind the desk and photographing all the documents. Some even rudely get into receptionist's personal space to to a facial scan. One asked the receptionist to stand up and submit to a full body scan, and had to be wrestled out of the venue several times. That's why we don't provide free candy anymore.2/2
At the reception desk, there is a bowl filled with small candy. The customers can take them, if they like. Sometimes, a small child takes a handful. Sometimes, an adult takes a handful. Most customers ignore them. As of late, robots started entering the venue, going straight for the bowl, and taking all the candy. As soon as one robot leaves, another enters and violently shakes the empty bowl. None of them leave when instructed, only when they met the "no candy left" condition. 1/2

I don't own a car. I take public transit everywhere, and I do think personal vehicle use has real environmental costs. But I don't think driving is inherently unethical.
I live in Seoul, and the city makes transit easy for me. That's not a virtue. It's a condition I happen to benefit from. Some people live where transit barely exists, or where it doesn't get them to work, school, or care. In those places, driving is not optional.
The same is true of flying. In parts of Europe you can cross borders by train. In island nations, or in places with weak land connections, flying may be the only realistic option. “Just fly less” means very different things in those places.
A lot of what gets called my ethical choices comes from the conditions I live in. That makes me wary of turning structural failures into personal morality. If the alternative is missing or unusable, shaming people for not choosing it solves nothing.
When environmental harm gets framed as individual moral failure, attention shifts away from the structural changes that would actually matter. It's not an accident that oil companies spent decades popularizing the idea of the personal carbon footprint.

It was just some silly restaurant owner, the dish wasn't renamed by an executive order.
