I’ve only read the idea prompts in @rottytooth’s Forty-Four Esolangs so far but they’re genuinely beautiful, and, in an age of LLMs eating the normal, they seem almost transgressively human.
Made my partner very happy with BTS tickets for their Brussels leg, then intensely sad when they disappeared from the Ticketmaster account. Turns out that Ticketmaster despite having one account has region-segmented sites, and I needed to be on ticketmaster.be to see them. That is not a good user experience.
Still, at least I know now.
Agreed to body double with my partner for a fixed hour to get her through a difficult part of a project. I announced that I would be working on a commit that I started in 2024 and abandoned in a half finished state. By the end of the hour I’d made serious headway, and after another hour it was done.
So yeah, body doubling with a statement of intent definitely recommended for both parties.

I've spent far too much time this weekend adding new features to my wind farm construction animations, you can see a couple of them here.
I love that you can clearly see the remote-controlled vessel performing a detailed survey grid around one of the wind turbines.
Perhaps checking that everything has been installed correctly?
Given the recent Ars Technica fuckup I’ve cancelled my subscription. Any non-US equivalents worth supporting with that money? (The Verge and 404 Media would be candidates, but they’re a bit US-centric.)

…anyway, that’s a Sweden to UK trip booked. This time I’m doing southern Sweden -> Köln / Köln -> London on the way out, and London -> Brussels / Brussels -> southern Sweden on the way back.
It’s amazing how cheap it can be. Brussels to southern Sweden is a full day’s travel and was <€100 in first class with seat bookings. And southern Sweden -> Köln was <€60.
I’ve always mixed and matched booking on Deutschebahn and Thetrainline, but I just cross-checked a journey and found that I could get first class on DB for the same price as normal on Thetrainline. I wouldn’t have thought there’d be that much difference?
Today’s CSS learning: @charset needs to come before @import, and @imports need to come before @namespace. Also, individual @imports need their own @namespace declarations.
