if there's one thing I've learned after 20 years of programming it's that nobody checks *anything*

you can just... say shit. make wild claims about performance or security or maintainability or even cost savings. and nobody will check. ever. companies will make million-dollar engineering decisions and still never check any of it.

if I got a nickel for the amount of times I investigated a completely unquestioned claim made by the owners/creators of some popular-at-the-time technology or tool, and found an outright lie within the first ten minutes... I'd have a hell of a lot more than two nickels, and that's really kind of terrifying actually

If the P100 filters aren’t doing it for you in the PNW with this smoke… honestly if you can get them in any case… get P100 filters that also do organic vapour. A lot of the pollutants aren’t just particulates, but things like SO2.

The first thing that caught my eye was this statue by artist Puppies Puppies (Jade Guanaro Kuriki-Olivo), that was part of the art exhibition in Park Sonsbeek in Arnhem (and still there until 11 October). I marked the images as NSFW because the title mentions some heavy subjects (though it is in Dutch, I'll put the translation in the next post and the statue itself is a bronze statue of a nude trans woman—just in case bronze breasts and bits are not something you want to see or show the person behind you.
