Had a medical intervention yesterday about my coffee intake (or addiction if you may) as Im getting physical manifestations now. This is gunna be tough.

I can't stop thinking about coffee, coffee, coffee.

Binge-watched The Devil's Hour! Whilst Season 2 wasn't able to keep the same momentum as Season 1, I am still very excited for the 3rd installment. Got my theories!

First time seeing a juvenile Nankeen Night Heron in front of our place!!! I didnt have my camera as per usual lol

What a day! I was on my usual birding walk when I saw a Bell Miner that was being harassed by group of Common Myna. The bird fell, and I thought it was just resting. So I took a photo of it. After a few more seconds, I knew that bird couldn't fly.

I called Wildlife Victoria immediately and reported that it was a Common Myna Attack. They told me to catch the bird, take it home and wait until someone picks it up from me. I couldn't for the love of god catch it. But thank god, someone was walking in the wetlands. I asked for help to catch the bird. She said it looks more like a cat attack than a Common Myna attack.

We covered it with my jumper, as was told by Wildlife Victoria. I called Wildlife Vic again for the update. Told them I cannot take the bird home cause of Heidi. So I asked if I could just uber to the nearest Vet that specialises with bird. They were fine with it. I surrendered the bell miner.

I wont hear anything from it as that's apparently part of the policy once youve surrendered a wildlife. But they said, if I really, really want, I can call. Wow this is probably the most rewarding thing that happened to me lately. Im not posting it for praise, but rather to let people know that we can help local wildlife.

If you see an injured animal, call 84007300. They will walk you through what to do. And if you have the means and the capacity, go the distance. The 40 dollar uber ride is not worth more than the bird's life.

Citizen Science success! My owl sighting will be used for science and conservation.

I do wonder why Powerful Owls (who are VULNERABLE in Victoria) don't get the SENSITIVE alert in ebird.

Two months ago, I sighted a golden eagle in Scotland. They are listed as extremely sensitive, so they were taken out of my public ebird list, which means no else can find out that I saw a golden eagle (except me and the ebird team). I wish they do it for Powerful Owls too.

Later, I may just make private my whole ebird.

Started watching The Pitt and I'm loving the realistic portrayal that if your show is set in hospitals, there should be at least 2 Filipino nurses. Else, fake news 😅😅😅

I usually dont notice if Im getting better with something. But because photography leaves pieces of evidence, I feel like I can say that Im getting better at it. I started with zero knowledge of birds and bird photography last year (second week of March; from a date stamp of my first uploaded bird photo of a margie lark). I didnt know bird names, bird calls and trivia about them. On top of that, all my bird photos were boring and flat.

I feel like Ive overcome the first hurdle, so Im happy about it. I can identify some birds from calls now, too. My photos are also more interesting. I could definitely do better still.

Im just so happy. This is probably the longest hobby I ever had.

A complaint was filed today against #Hyatt Hotels to the U.S. National Contact Point within the Department of State regarding its involvement with the proposed five-star hotel project near Kaziranga National Park in Assam state of northeast #India.

The proposed hotel impacts the livelihoods and cultural integrity of at least 45 Indigenous Adivasi families who have lived on and cultivated the lands for generations, as well as animal corridors within the Park in violations of OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
