Hey y’all. A very dear old friend of mine desperately needs help. Their unemployment runs out next week, which is gonna leave them without money for rent or food after the first week of the month. They’ve applied to over a THOUSAND jobs, but the market is so insane right now that they’re having no luck. Please help them if you can, and share this around. Thanks so much! https://gofund.me/50f5fb465
PBS is in danger. Please please please take just a couple minutes and fill this out if you're a US citizen. You don't even have to come up with an email yourself, there's provided boilerplate. (it does help though) https://protectmypublicmedia.org

I don’t know which is more shocking — learning that humans are this deeply selfish. That many people I know have the capacity to commit casual murder.
Or to watch communities I used to be a big part of drop me so completely. Discard people like me. Reject us. Banish us. Pretend like I never existed, never contributed anything.
Either way, their every action, every superspreader party, every “yes I’m infected but I need to have a life”… they let me know there is no place in their world for me.
Day 1628. It’s still shocking to watch people I used to think were my friends & community ignore the very real danger of the raging pandemic. People *knowingly infected* going about their lives in public, in the park, on airplanes… Basically expressing eugenics in real time. Knowing their actions will kill & disable others, but truly not caring. At all. Even when they know me — are looking right at me — choosing to act in a way that could steal my life away from me. Pretending they aren’t.
Not my article, but this is what it’s like being me. I’ve managed to dodge covid so far, but I’m very aware that my luck will run out eventually, given that nobody else gives a fuck any more.
I’m already disabled, and have only just started clawing my life back from it after a decade of looking for solutions. How long until I have it taken from me again?

The kind of thinking typified by Schmidt makes me want to delete every piece of art I’ve ever posted publically. These pieces provide a timeline of who I am, and who I was. They are victimizing artists, forcing them to either delete that timeline, or have pieces of their soul stolen to feed the greed.
They make society a poorer place with every breath they take, and every artist they deplatform.

The girls have Opinions about me getting out of bed when it’s this cold outside.
“I’m standing six feet away, so you won’t get it. Even though I’m infected and we are indoors.”
“It’s fine, I washed my hands.”
“I’m only going to be here for 10 minutes.”
“I got infected three days ago, but now I’m over it.”
WTF.
I cannot live with people like this. I feel like I’m surrounded by sociopaths. Watching them kill and maim people. With a blessing of *everyone* else.
First story is up, and I completely forgot to toot about it. In this first tale, Gaius van Baelsar receives some news which will change the course of Aldenard’s history.

It’s small, it’s flawed, and I have terrible brainfog that’s making me question the nature of words themselves, but it’s out.
