We need at some point to talk about American Evangelicalism as a heretical movement. We should not indulge the delusion of a bunch or nuts who cherry-pick the Bible to rationalize otherwise indefensible 21st century bigotries that they are representatives of a global faith.

Nobody is a centrist in 2026, sadly. You are for fascism or against it. Those are the options, and Fetterman has made his choice. I hope someday soon we will again have the luxury of a center.

I really wish more Dems would go meta on this and ask whose interests it serves that candidates for the United States Senate are being asked about how they would micromanage the eligibility rules for local youth sports leagues.

The really bizarre thing is that the judge and attorneys involved in this decision all must be old enough to recall when letting a five year old take a short solo walk around a safe neighborhood was, in fact, completely normal. Do they think their own parents were criminally negligent?

Our saving grace will be how inept and lazy these people are at every level. They could probably have cherry picked real studies for the conclusion they wanted or plucked a few misleading quotations from context. But that would be work & require someone familiar with the literature.

Realistically, it will be a sunk cost, the ballroom & bunker will have some potential usefulness, and it will be hard to justify expending millions more in public funds to demolish it as a message amid all the other substantive damage that needs to be undone.

Symbolically satisfying as it might be, I think the odds of a Dem president trying to demolish it once constructed are extremely low.

Hope Florida, the vehicle for the embezzlement scheme, was founded in 2023. It had total revenue of $850k in 2024. That jumped to $11.5 million in 2025, nearly all of it from the bogus settlement arrangement. Technically—since that $10 million was almost immediately passed on to other groups.

This is straight up theft, and the only reason it’s not being prosecuted is that the corruption was so pervasive they couldn’t settle on any particular individuals to assign responsibility to.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like incels have very,
very belatedly noticed that kind/funny/interesting men do just fine romantically without being wealthy models, and have found a way to warp it into another conspiracy theory about manipulative bitches rather than revisiting their priors.
