In France and other countries last week it was clear that some people died from doing things they never would have done had they been thinking clearly. That confusion can happen to anyone and it comes sooner than people expect.

One of the things that bears repeating before hot weather takes over is that once your body reaches a certain temperature you can no longer count on making the good decisions you would normally make and you can no longer count on your physical coordination.

Keeping yourself as cool as possible isn't being weak or wimpy. It's protecting your capacity to think and move well if you need to. #heat #weather

Well apparently I need to learn something about a #goose this morning if I want over half of my timeline to make sense

I loved this pale yellow Trek Calypso bike for many years but finally had to accept that I am no longer strong or physically confident enough to ride it on the roads. Luckily there’s an organization nearby that uses donated bikes to train young people in #bicycle repair and maintenance and they were eager to have it. Goodbye, beloved friend. I hope you’ll make someone else as happy as you made me!

When I took this I was on my way home from a local plant nursery. Happy days!

There's this thing now where about a week ahead we get forecasts of good amounts of rain, then closer to the day we can see the storm approaching, then on the day we get no or almost no rain but *all the wind* and everything is more dried out than it was before.

Now they're calling for over an inch of rain on Monday and we're already speculating how quickly the forecast rain amounts will dwindle and how much wind to expect instead. Lawns are browning. We can't seem to break out of this drought.

Old HO #train set from at least 40 years ago, what to do with them? None of it unused, only some with original boxes but many pieces in good condition. There must be a local group of train enthusiasts. 🤔

Looking at an old children’s chemistry set and an old children’s microscope and now I wish I had time to learn whole new disciplines and start a new career in science. Chemistry especially. It’s basically all plants do: manufacture chemicals.

Now that I’ve seen the world for all these years I want to know how it all works.

I feel like if it gets any more humid I'll be able to swim everywhere instead of walk.
