Wrote a brief tribute to the Trocadero, iconic Philly punk venue and one of my personal sacred sites.
I like the idea that objects (i.e. discrete entities of any sort) are the fundamental units of ontology, and are sort of a bridge between the mental world of pure forms/concepts and the shared, sensory world of matter and qualities and properties.
So, fellow #philosophy nerds - I've been thinking a lot lately about Object Oriented Ontology, and reading Graham Harman's The Quadruple Object... and I am legit fascinated by this avenue of thought. Just curious if this is on anyone else's radar in my area of influence.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (2023) was great stuff. A compelling concept, made dynamic and deeply moving in the execution.
Funny, watching anime shift from “reluctant adolescent hero fantasy” into more mature territory, a meditation on change and mortality and whatnot.

Looks like I got through about 20 media artifacts this year, including movies and shows. That’s a pretty solid record for the current phase of my life.
I saw some things I really liked, too, that should stay with me long enough to repay the effort.

Talking about longevity today.
I backed an Indie game on kickstarter a *decade* ago, and they are still grinding their way to getting it developed. It is a sort of old-timey Cthulhu noir side-scrolling adventure, which honestly still sounds awesome.

Im experimenting with engraving-style crosshatching for the drawing I’m currently working on. I like it! but it’s complicating the puzzle of how to shade the rest of the drawing, especially the solid dark areas.
