achievement unlocked: My therapist trauma dumped on me

that was a rhetorical question, btw, but the answer is:

browser.nova.enabled=False

*starts Firefox*
*sees new UI*

that's not too bad?…

*30 seconds later*

yeah, okay, I hate it, how do I make it go away?

finished reading "From Plausible Deniability to Pride" a thesis observing the parallels and developments on Admiral Crunch's Being Christina Chase @miriamrobern's Being Samantha Masters and I think I'm still churning on the key observation of how white the genre is

I'm a writer. It's like riding a bike, or childhood trauma. You never really lose it.

rather than watching Odyssee and then getting angry at Nolan for how he portrays (or doesn't portray) women, why not read Wrath Goddess Sing instead?
#WrathGoddessSing #Odyssee #Illiad

When, exactly, was the LinkedIn Group "Open Source" renamed to "Open Source & Artificial Intelligence | AI Agents| Machine Learning - OpenAI, ChatGPT, Chatbot, NLP", because that seems like a very different… scope.

i forgot the word for capitalism today

good thing I'm going to the brain doctor tomorrow, because something seems to be going wrong up there

reading somebody's [negative reaction](https://マリウス.com/i-regret-migrating-to-codeberg/) to codeberg's members taking a vote against LLMs (and crypto) I was just reminded that some guy with an ego overinflated by his fan base recently said that LLM is just a tool

I don't think it was ever Codeberg's goal to be a Github replacement, or the next universal code forge. further, Codeberg's bias towards seeing Open Source as fundamentally community driven is because Codeberg is fundamentally community driven

so, yeah, if the place you want to host your software on has missions and values that don't align with you, it's probably good to look elsewhere.

good.

my daughter calls both of her moms bro and it's deeply weird, but I'm chalking it up as generational weird, not, "I want to have two dads" instead

i don't think either of my parents would've been OK with me calling them buraz / burazer, but other than being inappropriate from respect / familiarity level, that feels also feels vastly more gendered than "bro". but maybe that's just cuz i haven't been in Bosnia in 15 years

somebody please apply for a sociolinguistics grant to write a paper about how "bro" and/or æquivalents are being propagated in Gen Z / Gen Alpha æquivalents across the world

*tries a piece of software*

okay, so, before I can even try to use it, I should submit two bug reports, huh

walked into a charity shop…
… and had to walk out again, giggling

serious question: has anyone here ever found a job via LinkedIn?

• Reports we believe are LLM generated will either be rejected outright or if thought to be plausible will be credited to the unnamed and uncredited authors whose works were ingested as the training corpus.

power move

my favourite kind of android app requires a password for sign in but won't let you paste it and won't trigger your password manager

wow this fuckin sucks

yes, I, really have registered my self-employment under the name Acute-C. which is both, the letter in my name #ć, and also a bit cutesy

Our company, Acute-C, is the exclusive steward of the Mina agent. For the low price of €111/h, you too can gain access to this powerful agent for all your FOSS, Infrastructure and Community Management tasks.

The agent is well able to work outside these boxes and has been successfully used as coach, conference speaker and even as ineffective project manager, as well as a drowning parent and a disaffected shop assistant.

Please email hire+agent+mina@igalic.co for inquiries.
