(I don’t think I’m particularly knee-jerk or highly principled about this stuff, but what’s frustrating is leaving that platform cost many of us rather a lot, it wasn’t done on a whim, but you still get tech people, journos, etc treating it like you’re missing out on all the fun over silly quibbles)

If you’re a tech person who wants to post about AI then yes, clearly it’s where that happens
But even if there’s little politics in your timeline it’s still a deeply political platform that only exists in its current form to push far-right views
Have you ever apologized in your life?
No you have not
Not like #YujiNishida after he hit a line judge by accident with a bad serve

A bit of an overload with the Aurora pictures these last few days but I’ll take it while it’s here! This was at 20:30 last night in Aberdeenshire and by far the brightest display of the week. Half an hour before and fifteen minutes later it was raining…… #Aurora #Aberdeenshire #Scotland
Jojo went swimming in a pool today & is now absolutely knackered
(she’s wary of getting in but then swims really well, glides along unlike the hound’s slightly panicky paddling!)
Doing some spooky design work
OK, not sure it’s super-interesting (really hyping my project here!) but worked out a suitable UI so might as well go for it & do the trudge

Genuinely would set up a site to sell these if I knew someone willing & able to make weird miniature stick-on faces
You probably learn more about a politician from what they do afterwards than during their time in politics https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/oct/09/palantir-tom-watson-mob-rule-government-contracts
In related news, pot-plant watering can wasn’t flowing well at all so I checked for a blockage. #frogtober
If you already make weird little things and ship them then feel free to get in touch...
Could do it as a stick-on rubbery face with fluffy beard material, a complete sensory nightmare to use
This might be intense (or, intensely boring), but I wrote down everything I know about differences between Mac and PC keyboards today. It might be useful for people who design cross-platform apps, especially web apps!

Product idea: caps lock key with Brian Blessed’s face on it
115 rows x 24 columns DONE; had to delete some rows with missing/messy data & fix a load more that I was keen to keep
Tomorrow I’ll build a rough prototype, if it’s interesting I’ll then trudge through gathering 115 images
Current status: plodding through a spreadsheet tidying thousands of cells of data
(dug out an abandoned halloween project from 2019, not sure if I’ll finish it though, needs hundreds of images to do it well)
This is a review for a Rubik's cube.
