Can't view products on Etsy anymore. Got the same error from our supermarket yesterday. Chrome, and Firefox. With and without VPN.
I, of course, have done NONE of these things.
I hate this timeline. this is a bad timeline filled with half-assed software forced on us by people who don't give a shit what impact it has.
We refer to trans women as "dolls" as in "Save the dolls" But today I heard "action figures" as a euphemism for trans men.
and... Is that actually a thing? Can we make it a thing if not? I think it's kinda cool, but I'm not a trans guy so I don't feel like I really get a vote in this.

(Audio required but is literally not safe for work, or around stodgy people.)

This was fun, a little spicy, and very much too short. I want to read full length novels in this world.

We're publishing new guidance to support trans people who do fieldwork (any work outside the office)!
Now we need your help to get them seen so please share! https://inclusivefieldwork.leeds.ac.uk/trans/
If you are on Catodon, Sharkey or Misskey, checkout the themes I created. Long story short Nyan Cat [search]is part of the inspiration. I got the night themes right on the first attempt IMO, but many of the day themes were trying to get it right.

"Escape" lets you press the button to hear a soundscape from somewhere far away: babbling brooks, ocean waves, birdsong, a crackling fire...
Status update.
The cat’s been purring on me for probably twenty minutes now.
Wifey just told the duty that “beggars do not get what they ask for. Life does not work that way”
That is true unless you’re really rich. Then begging (or just asking really) seems to work exceptionally well. Especially when they offer an entirely coincidental and unrelated gift whose amount means nothing to them but is life changing to the people they’re asking
Current status
Maybe people already know this, but while digging around for a brain fart idea, I found this IoT SIM that's just $5 up front, 2c/day and 2c/MB consumed - could be useful for little projects that need connectivity but fuck all data
A year's worth of connectivity and 500MB of data is just $18.
Well this is fucking lovely. I can't log in to GitHub in Firefox anymore. Not with Password. Not with passkey. Nuffin.
🤦♀️ fucking UNTESTED AI slop bullshit should never be used on critical infrastructure. Hell, untested AI should never be used anywhere.
@dachary refers to this as Ensloppification. Dunno who came up with the term, but yeah.
@ArneBab
😔The lack of comparable library ecosystems seems the real kicker, but now I'm wondering about using AI to port libs from other languages to whatever platform I build on. I'm dubious that it'd do a good job porting from OOP to Functional programming, and building on a tower of AI libs seems… fraught.😒
I really *want* want wisp offers, but I want it where I can easily build non-trivial things with it.

@ArneBab
🤔 I haven't revisited Racket since it moved to Chez Scheme, or Common Lisp since it got Quicklisp.
If you've got any ideas for things that meet my requirements I will *happily* jump down that rabbit hole. I keep ending up using Go lately because of my criteria but Go's not nearly as nice on the brain as scheme.

starting new thread.
Re. wisp's ability to be hand-written.
I saw that ages ago, and it's been rattling around in my head ever since.
The big obstacle for me is that I want to build things in an ecosystem with lots of libraries because I'm sick of reinventing existing wheels, but I also want something that can create compiled artifacts that run fast, and has garbage collection, and TCO. I'd happily port Wisp to run in/on anything like that.
