first day on the job and already I am fed up. Got a call at 9:25 why I didn't show up on my induction training at 9, when they sent me an invitation for tomorrow. Notebook didn't show up because I couldn't hand in my documents on time.
Great start.

Had a 4h long 5e dnd game today.
I think my age is showing, but after about half that time I was ready to check out.
Unlike other people I never managed those mammoth 12h sessions I was hearing about, but by now 3 hours is about my maximum.
bought myself an air fryer on offer. Turns out two things can be true at the same time:
1. it is an immensely useful kitchen tool
2. it also completely sucks at it's main selling point (i.e. being a fryer)
because it is not actually a fryer but a very small convection oven instead. so if you want to do roast vegetables or chicken: perfect.
if you want to do fries or fish sticks or nuggets: utter disappointment.
I guess "mini convection oven" wasn't as glamorous as "air fryer"
Our previous cats were surprisingly communicative sometimes. I once brought some cheap Carrefour cat food because that was the only thing I could get quickly, and they looked at it, looked at me, and then one of them was effectively telling me it was crap, by pretending to dig it in.
come to think of it, the cybertruck was Elon Musk's magnum opus in terms of cyberpunk aesthetic. It's the perfect vehicle to show at the beginning of a movie, rusted and burnt out, to say without any words: here is where we went wrong
Getting older is also reading the 1st edition of Shadowrun and realizing we were promised a dystopia where the bad guys turned out to be actually interesting.
At least the money hoarding sleazeballs in Shadowrun were supersmart reptiles and not featureless balls of dough.
#LibreOffice Writer disappoints by not letting me get my inner #Pratchett out and allowing me footnotes on footnotes.
What an oversight.
Ah, now they cancelled it citing a technical issue.
Well, the store not being open as long as they have in their system is certainly an issue. Not sure if technical. It's supposed to be open until 1.30am according to their app, but AFAIK they close at 11.
I feel bad for all those couriers that just went there just to realize they'd been had.
Oh God, I think I created a sargasso for delivery drivers earlier when I just wanted to order something from a shop. It took so long to deliver that by now the shop AFAIK is closed, so the drivers get there and notice they can't get my order. Then the next one is assigned. And the next one...etc.
I also can't cancel the order anymore for some reason.
Out with the kids in the huge arcade they built into that one failed shopping center a few years ago. For a Saturday in the school holidays it still feels not as crowded as it should be to be profitable. There's whole lines of claw machines that are completely devoid of people. But we'll, that's claw machines. The restaurants on the sides are nearly empty, whole lit areas with nobody in there.a
At least you won't feel cold?
an attempt at something: https://codeberg.org/kyonshi/Tabletop-Roleplaying-Resources
a collection of free #ttrpg resources
I know that's a bit of a wide approach, but that's kind of the point. it's supposed to be like the awesome lists on github or the delightful lists on codeberg
Jackie Chan is making Armour of God IV and honestly, that feels a bit like elder abuse
Kid clamored for curry, bought him one at a Asian food stand in Bayreuth.
Now he criticized the cooking. Says he wants to go back to London to eat curry there.
I have created a monster.
*looking at the first picture* yeah, that looks like some of the houses my wife shows me on otodom
*looking at the second picture* AAAAAARGH MY EYES!
I find it interesting that the polish expression "not my circus, not my monkeys" has gotten so far as to be included in the Cambridge dictionary.
I think it was one of those reddit threads like "what's an expression from you language that English is missing" back in the late 2010s that introduced that saying to the wider internet and people loved it

Uno of all games now comes with expansion packs.
So he used public money to hire a buddy to give the reflecting pool a garish do-over by painting it blue, which lead to it getting a really bad algae bloom.
Instead of fixing the actual problem they put peroxide into it, in quantities that never could hope to actually affect the algae.
Now the fresh paint is peeling off and the pool is a sludge of algae and paint chips and the foundations of the pool are starting to break.
A perfect miniature of US politics.
