To some of you this must sound obvious to some of you. But I have had a pretty hard time getting away from it. (mostly because I am on a family plan and my father pays for it.... so it feels free even if it isn't.

I am really considering quiting spotify and just buying or pirating music again. Nowadays I have no idea if any new song I hear is actually human made or not. And there is something about intentionally adding something in your music library by buying it. Instead of streaming just whatever you happen to think of in that moment.

@bert_hubert ik hoorde je op de radio vanmorgen. Vond je vergelijking van openAI advertenties en een advocaten kantoor die pizza reclame ernaast doet heel leuk!

I just watched a whole AI video on youtube and only noticed it was AI cause I read the comments. Fuck this shit

Apparently mastodon doesn’t show link previews?

I agree with this xkcd. Always found Sherlock cringe because of this.

Lately, I have had this feeling that, whenever a protest is happening, even if I fully agree with the cause, my mind goes to "How does this even help?".

And even when I read up on why protesting can be an effective form of activism, even if it is just to strengthen your own bonds, my mind still tends to think "But what is the point?".

I hate feeling like this. Does anyone else feel like this or has any insights on how to mitigate it?

Public announcement: neurodivergency is not an excuse to be an asshole. I am pretty tired of nazi's co-opting our vocabulary.

So now that my laptop broke, I am considering getting a framework (among other options)

Any framework owners that can shed light on wether it’s a good option? Performance and longevity are important factors for me.

For my American trans buddies, someone linked my this resource on emigration: https://transworldexpress.org/wiki/Main_Page . Hope more people get to know this.

I made a LinkedIn post last week, I hated doing that.

After looking at the general LinkedIn post, they all kinda look the same. I suspect this is because every corporate motherfucker is trying to please the algorithm on there, and thus converge on 'eenheidsworst'(uniformity).

I never could put words on it, but this is exactly why I disliked big tech's media so much. I was done with trying to please the algorithm.

It also explains why I like the fediverse more. I can just be myself here.

I am in a pinch. My current Apple phone is getting old. I kinda want to get rid of Apple but I can’t find anther phone with long term security updates. The android ecosystem seems another privacy nightmare from my perspective and alternative open source phones can’t run have some apps that I depend on. (Hating the network effect here)

Even the Fairphone promises only 5 years of security updates. Which is long for android but still short IMHO.

Are there any ethical&practical smartphone left?
