I've noticed it on my Facebook feed; the third or fourth slot down, there's a section with just AI generated videos.

They're all eery and over polished, those kind of AI videos of slack-faced perfect-bodied zombies bouncing in herky-jerky dances. Everything is awful.

Saskia suggested that having authentic connection with real humans may be a unique value proposition of the Fediverse.

I use Firefox as my web development daily driver because it is good (as browsers go, they're still mostly terrible) but it's not because I support Mozilla.

They're not big enough to ruin the Internet, but they would if they were. Still a corporation.

This morning’s park walk. I did some guerilla tree planting here over the past month and a bit. Native trees from seed, grown at home over the past couple of years. I wasn’t planting this morning, just nice to know I gave back!

I'm not complaining! It's a family run business (apparently) and they're reliable. And they have everything.

If you're in Ireland and you want to buy electronics from Not Amazon, then you don't have loads of options. There's Harvey Norman, Currys, and... Elara. Elara is great, but very old school, borderline cantankerous. I'm waiting on a delivery, and the tracking is pretty much 'When we say so'.

It’s a numbers game/all aboard for Enfield: Decided to go for distance today, the long-promised jaunt to Enfield. It’s funny, there was a time when getting to Kilcock and back was some sort of achievement. Then Ferran’s Lock. Now Enfield, and it didn’t seem like too much today. Progress.
