If I don't keep my car roadworthy and crash into yours, it hasn't gone "rogue", it's my negligence and I'm responsible. If my dog attacks you, I am liable. There are no rogue AIs, just negligent AI companies. Prosecute them.

And quite honestly, every company which supports Omarchy and DHH is not supporting a FOSS project bringing Linux to a broader audience, they're supporting DHH establishing a fascist and racist community within the FOSS space.
DigitalOcean pulling support for FOSS projects while handing millions to fascists (DHH and Omarchy) is nothing but pure evil.
Actively defunding decentralized communities while throwing money at the racist tech bro. Absolutely disgusting, and I'm really disappointed in DigitalOcean.

Under what conditions should copyright-protected content be used for AI training?
🗣️We know this is a topic many of you feel strongly about.
We want to hear your views on issues related to the use of copyright-protected content for training AI models, for research, and more.
📝Consultation open until 3 November 2026.
Today is Bandcamp Friday. That means Bandcamp doesn't take their usual cut of sales of my band's EP, Return From Interrupt.
If you like four YouTubers making novelty rock songs about vintage computers - and really, who doesn't - buying our EP today for $5 USD would be a fantastic way to support our work.
We're hoping to get together soon to finish up the second EP- a strong showing today would help us reach our goals.

Digital Ocean sunset the open source credits program which we used to help offset the server costs.
We could really use more support, please consider donating and sharing this for more reach!

What are y'all using for documentation these days?
I'm looking for a static-site generator that's extendable, supports versioning and multi language, and plugins.
Open to any language really, built time speed is not a priority.
I'm so old, I remember when software that spread into the wild and infiltrated other people's computers and did harmful things to them that the users didn't ask it to was called "malware" instead of "AI" and the perpetrators were prosecuted instead of given billions in venture capital and government contracts.
