Pleased to announce that I have just successfully argued that I should not be charged (nearly $1000) for an FOI request because releasing the information is "clearly in the public interest".

This little guy is recovering from a big day yesterday of being shaved, poked, drained of blood and very little food. And he didn't even get the general anaesthetic and thorough teeth cleaning that was the original reason for the vet trip.

He's got one of two endocrine/hormonal diseases, both of which are treatable and no cause for panic, but will likely require an adjustment to the budget.

Blood test results are due back on Monday which should tell us which one it is.

I'm taking a week off to do some mountain adventures, starting with Mt Bogong next Sunday. It's been a nervous few days watching the wet weather forecasts come in but I may just get lucky with some dry days.

Anyway, hire car is booked and paid for now, so I'm definitely going somewhere.
